There's a partnership you wouldn't expect lol. An interesting investment though. With the US opening up much more sports betting, and a decent chance Canada follows suit soon, live sports could explode in viewership.

The opener won't turn elite talent into journeymen. They may throw less innings, or perhaps similar innings but in shorter spurts, but there will continue to be elite pitchers that eat a lot of innings ... because they're better than anyone who could replace them.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of bumping Morales. They do want to go with youth, and it would open up a lot of flexibility. -

Yeah, I was kinda eyeing Evan White who probably fits that bill. Could profile as a young Overbay with more speed if his development progresses well. Maybe you get a lottery ticket reliever prospect thrown in too. Would probably bump attendance with the casuals enough to cover some of the contract difference.

Yeah, I mean if it's true Harper turned down 10/300, well it's hard to see anyone topping it (especially with his defensive issues). With Machado's comments and lack of hustle in critical games in the playoffs, I don't think any team is going to want to risk a real long-term deal with him. He may get paid well on short-term deals though (both of them for that matter).

Boucher gets a multi-year deal with the Raps. Still have some slots to fill though.

Kawhi either signs long term or leaves this off-season, not next year's deadline. Regardless, Lowry, Gasol, Siakim, Ibaka, and whoever they signed as a FA to "replace" Kawhi would still likely be a solid playoff team, just not elite. They aren't tearing it down after this season.
