  1. His velocity really hasn't changed. He might be using a different grip though.
  2. I was wondering about that too. It appears that both his velocity and general movement are similar to what they've always been, he's just not commanding it. If you're sinker isn't down in the zone, it's going to be hit hard somewhere. He's probably not a pitcher who should be throwing a sinking fastball.
  3. If we're taking on 3/68 for Myers, we'd better be getting multiple elite prospects back in the Stroman deal too.
  4. I think the only move I'd make would be Fried for Peacock.
  5. Yep, called it lol. If there's any pitchers you guys want me to jinx tomorrow, let me know.
  6. I could see them leaving him down until the trade deadline, when the roster probably has a few spots open up.
  7. They definitely had him at 3rd if they had gone there.
  8. You're safe. I screwed them over yesterday. Gotta spread the love around.
  9. In case you're wondering, yes, I took Stroman in DFS today. You can expect Plesac, Verlander, and Skaggs to blow up also.
  10. I hear they forgot to bring baseballs, so are playing with lacrosse balls. Oh, that's been the case all season, you say?
  11. Pitching and I don't seem to agree with each other. Actually, I've been basically treading water lately. The blowups have been spectacular though.
  12. At least you didn't start Tanaka AND Porcello in DFS, with Tanaka in the captain's slot. I've never had -36 from my pitching before.
  13. Home runs aren't considered a ball in play.
  14. This really doesn't seem at all sustainable, but man is he an easy guy to cheer for.
  15. Daniel Murphy is not having a good game. Back to back throwing errors in the first inning ... as a 1st baseman.
  16. He was on a pitch count. He's still being stretched out.
  17. Gurriel JUST missed that.
  18. It's always difficult. If it's a dynasty league, then teams that are out of it can still make smart pickups to improve their situation for the following year, and tend to stay a little more active. Some sort of money-based league could maybe have small weekly pots that handicapped teams or something. We've toyed with the idea in dynasty of weighting draft lotteries to (very) slightly favor top performing non-playoff teams, giving teams the incentive to finish as high as possible. We've never implemented it in any leagues though.
  19. You've gotta love some of the matchup comments:
  20. Many leagues allow you to customize what stats you want to use. To be fair, OBP is antiquated too if you want to use that argument. For me, personally, I like to be able to watch a game I have fantasy/DFS players in and know what each result I see means for my team without having to run a bunch of calculations. It's just more fun that way. The calculations are fun for other applications.
  21. Ignoring the usage of results in your argument, I'm in favor of extending Stroman, but it's not a slam dunk decision. He's been trending in the wrong direction for several years now, at least in terms of xFIP. 2014: 3.17, 2015: 3.34, 2016: 3.41, 2017: 3.59, 2018: 3.84, 2019: 4.12. That's not a trajectory you really want to see continue for another couple years.
  22. In a redraft? Hell yeah, accept that. Even if Kluber starts his throwing program in the next few days, which seems unlikely, he probably still needs 3 weeks to a month to return. It's not like he was killing it before he went on the DL either, although those two things probably aren't mutually exclusive.
  23. I'm pretty sure what we're seeing right now is Vladdy at his worst, and he's still almost league average. I don't think anyone is worried about him.
  24. Apparently they were keeping him for the save. He would have come in if we hadn't botched up the second gift the Yankees gave us.
