    Looks likely. I basically need a home run from Verdugo. It doesn't affect this since both Pendleton and I have him, but I really, REALLY hate teams lifting starting pitchers at weird times. Flaherty just struck out the last two batters, but crossed that magical 100 pitch plateau. Of course he has to be lifted with 2 outs in the 5th inning. Every time I see that, I hope the reliever comes in and blows up spectacularly. It makes it really hard for DFS, because it's so hard to predict SP and bullpen usage. I guess that's a good thing and a bad thing. Figure it out, and you have a hell of an advantage.

    Cooper and Caleb Smith for King (who has a fractured elbow) and 250K in international bonus money was pretty bad.

    I'm going to be interested in how Bauer does today after losing his friend (Skaggs) yesterday. I wanted to take him, but decided the unknown factors were too big a risk (I have the lineup in another contest too).

    I'm choosing to decline compensation. I think the rule is good to have in place, but is intended more to guard against something that will dramatically alter a fantasy franchise.

    That really sucks. Not that it's good timing to mention, but the Angels could really, REALLY use someone like Stroman now, especially only being 4.5 back in the wildcard.

    I just saw that. Not a message I expected or wanted to see on my phone. Today's Angels game has been postponed btw (obviously).

    It was very heavily backloaded.

    BR says he's signed from 2020-2022 at 22.5M / year, with a 1M buyout for 2023. I wasn't including what was left for this year, so it would actually be more than 68M unless they have the contract reported wrong.

    I don't have him on ignore, but I usually don't bother trying to decipher his posts either. It's just not worth the effort. If I want something to exercise my brain, I'll go to somewhere like Project Euler or something. https://projecteuler.net

    Stroman's WAR is higher. However, Giles is the one that deserves to be there. Before everyone rants and raves though, it's possible his arm is still not 100% and he may not have been available anyway.

    Meh, I'd rather them baby him a little if that's what their high performance department or other analysis is telling them is best, rather than bow to public pressure.

    No clue whether he'll stay up. The numbers in the minors this year are stellar. He only threw ~80 innings last year and is already up to 70 this year, so it's entirely possible he could be on some kind of innings limit (either shutting him down, or moving him to the pen in the near future).

    Pitches with a lot of movement always seem to have more trouble throwing strikes (which makes sense). It's definitely at least part of his problem imo.

    That's why I want to see him reduce the movement on the fastball. Get people off it via the splitter rather than extreme movement.
