  1. My bad guys. Remind me not to trade for Jays pitchers in the future. In particular, there should be a forum ban on anyone trading me Pearson.
  2. I'm not sure what behavioural issues he's had. I don't recall reading about any. As for his weight, not to worry. Vladdy will eat all the ice cream and other goodies. Or maybe Gohara will and Vladdy will lose weight. Either way, we win.
  3. With that bat he can play SS if needed.
  4. Huh, apparently Sanchez is actually starting for HOU for the time being. Not what I expected.
  5. No streaking yet. We need the Cubs to call Tim Collins back up first, and give him a save opportunity.
  6. No kidding. Also, Tate, could you please stop trying to kill our batters?
  7. I'm surprised we don't see that happen more often actually.
  8. I think Vladdy finally stopped being late with his swing.
  9. Plus you supplement them in a year or two with Pearson, etc. You could have a pretty damn good rotation right when it matters.
  10. Screw the value signings. Cole and Bumgarner would look pretty good at the top of the rotation.
  11. Lol, Grichuk loves hitting against the O's. ... Yeah, I think EVERYONE loves hitting against the O's.
  12. Biggio is going to have to start swinging at a few of those borderline pitches until the umps start to respect his eye a bit more.
  13. We don't know what the truth is. Atkins said he circled back to all the teams, but maybe the Twins were ruled out before that due to a s*** offer or something. Who knows who's telling the truth.
  14. They'll probably rotate him around the infield. As much as people complain about it, there's nothing wrong with giving the young guys one or two days off a week late in the season.
  15. They'll probably rotate guys through the DH rather than recall Rowdy, so all four main outfielders will likely get lots of starts.
  16. I'd put the Dodgers and Mets in a tie for the best 5-man rotation, but the Astros with the best playoff rotation.
  17. But the ball performs exactly the same!
  18. The bandwagon fan base doesn't matter in the least. They'll be back as soon as we start winning again.
  19. Highly unlikely. Next year will be a feeling out process, and we'll probably look to spend in 2021 to fill the holes.
  20. I'm very happy they got neither.
  21. Pompey probably gives better defense (he'd likely be young Pillar territory) and better SB ability. Fisher likely has him in every other area.
  22. It's possible, but Pardinho has 24 innings in A ball, Woods-Richardson has 78, and Manoah has 1 in A-. I don't think it's at all unreasonable to project a full season between A and A+ next year, perhaps with SWR hitting AA for half the year in 2020, then AA and AAA in 2021. They may get cups of coffee then, but 2022 seems reasonable just considering where they are and where they need to get to. Of course, they could utterly dominate and move that timeline up.
  23. In a must-win game, I'd probably throw Giles out there until he broke.
  24. I would say (some of these guys may get cups of coffee the year before): Wave 1 (now) ----------------------------------- Wag Thornton Borucki SRF Merryweather Pannone (I think he gets a legit chance to start) Wave 2 (2020) ------------------------------------ Pearson Kay Zeuch Wave 3 (2021) ----------------------------- Luciano Murphy Diaz Wave 4 (2022) ------------------------- Pardinho Woods-Richardson Manoah Kloffenstein
  25. He basically didn't stick because he was only called up to fill in for short-term injuries. The Astros have been stacked for a few years now. Is he a sure-fire MLB regular? No. His combination of speed and power, plus the ability to play an above average CF, is exactly the kind of guy we should be targeting though. Plus, he draws lots of walks. That said, we basically had all the leverage in this trade, and bent over.
