  1. I will be there (legitimately he's hosting a party in Vegas on draft day) for the first round so I'm hoping in real life he doesn't drop this far for real. I take the TJS kid...Erick Fedde.
  2. Jeff Luhnow is a complete open book and hype machine on social media, if you don't follow him...you should. He gave away tickets for the debut of Springleton today
  3. This is the proper way to use your minors. Jenkins has no huge future value but any innings he can give you in a blowout (win or loss) is a bonus. Then you send him right back down to start in Buffalo. I expect he'll have 3 more trips up and down before September.
  4. I don't think I'm going to make the deal sorry. I don't think it's a horrible deal but just not looking to deal him...or probably anything for a bit.
  5. The pick I never wanted to make...who'd I get for him? I'm pretty sure it's someone that hasn't helped me at all, seeing as I've lost every trade I've made
  6. He put BleacherReport in the title. Giving people the option to completely avoid. The author is named Dick Wiener so that's fun at least.
  7. right on pace for 40 of their first 70 games. AA is back as darling of the media. Lawrie is healthy and sitting sub 100 wRC. Jays fans can only hope that I'm wrong on the rest
  8. I think he has two errors at 2B right now, that's likely over this sss hurting his metrics at 2B more than anything. Too lazy to look it up.
  9. all off season I said that the Jays were in much better shape depth wise and the team is finally starting to use some of it's starting pitching depth as relievers (there should be no such thing as minor league relief depth) and maybe now using players with options to spot start and give extra days of rest to the starters not named Buehrle and Dickey. The past 2 or 3 weeks the team has been making more roster management decisions that I suggested in the off season (essentially mimicking the Cards but with a bit smaller of a talent pool to choose from) so I can't complain about how they have ran the team during that time (and no I'm not taking any credit for the better play). We'll see how they handle things when Morrow and Rasmus come back...that'll be a test to see if they just fluked into better decisions or actually have learned from their mistakes.
  10. racist poll saying all Dominicans are the same.
  11. Apologize in advance the Stoeten link. I just didn't have time to search for other ads for it.
  12. Want to go and ask them baseball questions that none of them can answer? I love Keri's writing but he's a baseball (Expos) historian not a baseball guy. Campbell is a sports economics guy and Grange has never wow'd me with his baseball knowledge. Campbell is probably the only one that could answer any questions that I'd be interested in actually knowing the answers to. http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2014/06/03/announcing-pitch-4/
  13. only competitive balance picks can be traded. The Jays don't have one.
  14. I can't remember the year it changed but the Worst in the NL and the worst in the AL used to alternate years where they picked first. Neither Matt Bush nor Verlander were ranked number 1 or 2 that year. Stephen Drew and Jered Weaver were ranked highest but fell because of Boras demands. Weaver ended up signing for much less than expected (although still second highest in the draft) and Drew signed a major league contract 1 day before the 2005 draft deadline on May 31st.
  15. I don't think they were as far behind but check the Tigers the very next season.
  16. In my defense I really only hate Toronto teams in good times...that's when the non-fans of the sport come out. No matter how the team does I'll still be a fan of Rays head office...that won't change until it's no longer Friedman around.
  17. Pretty sure the team winning has a lot more to do with that. Every board needs intelligent opposition, the issue with this board is that many of us started getting information that the F.O. wasn't what we thought it was, and the Rays happened to be the best example of what we thought the Jays were going to be. Good on the Jays for winning, it's the only answer for them. As for me, my season will be no less disappointing as before when the Jays were not winning, I'm still going to watch a shitload of baseball.
  18. Take a look at their 2011 prospect list (this one from BP). It has provided them with 2 starting pitchers, starters at catcher, 1B, 3B, one of the best part time OF's and 3 relievers. They used three of the players (Myers, Monty and Odorizzi) to get them a starter that provide them 4.7 WAR last year and a reliever that's among the best in baseball. Really that's pretty good for a farm in just three years. Add in Gordon and Butler to that mix. The issue is that they only have those two guys and Greg Holland from the 2010 team contributing. Greinke was dealt for Escobar, Odorizzi and Cain. Soria they let walk. So pretty much they got what you can expect out of a top farm (11 contributing players)...they just were starting with nothing and added nothing else of consequence. They also have never thought much about pitching depth (something I ripped AA for last year) and that is one of their biggest issues. 1. Mike Moustakas, 3B 2. Eric Hosmer, 1B 3. Wil Myers, OF 4. Mike Montgomery, LHP 5. John Lamb, LHP 6. Jake Odorizzi, RHP 7. Danny Duffy, LHP 8. Christian Colon, SS 9. Chris Dwyer, LHP 10. Yordano Ventura, RHP 11. Jeremy Jeffress, RHP 12. Brett Eibner, OF 13. Tim Collins, LHP 14. Aaron Crow, RHP 15. Tim Melville, RHP 16. Jason Adam, RHP 17. Cheslor Cuthbert, 3B 18. Salvador Perez, C 19. Robinson Yambati, RHP 20. Louis Coleman, RHP 21. Johnny Giavotella, 2B 22. Patrick Keating, RHP 23. Derrick Robinson, OF 24. David Lough, OF 25. Noah Arguelles, LHP 26. Jarrod Dyson, OF 27. Humberto Arteaga, SS 28. Crawford Simmons, LHP 29. Lucas May, C 30. Jeff Bianchi, SS
  19. ugh...I did exactly what I said I wouldn't do in this pool and have a future number 1 overall prospect who is at least 5 years away. I'll drop David Rodriguez if you guys still give me credit for finding the guy that the is going to surpass Victor Martinez as the best offensive Venezuelan catcher ever, with Sal Perez's defense.
  20. Can't disagree with that. It will be a fun time for that front office.
  21. Ole Miss Athletic Director Ross Bjork continues to be the coolest AD out there. He emailed this to all Alumni and then posted it on Twitter.
  22. Dr. Wilk (from the Andrews Clinic) was on PTS. Andrews Clinic has created an app for young kids (and their parents) to monitor over pitching. They could probably never do another surgery again and make enough money as consultants to pitchers.
  23. Ugh at least I have the Premier League...and a win over NJH
  24. Not answering the phone is the most Ninja thing he's done this year.
