  1. that goes against your schtick. You are supposed to find the negative in all other teams.
  2. It would be interesting if it was Buehrle's last year what fans would be thinking. Almost all would be hoping he accepts the Qualifying offer at 14M and many would be likely wanting him back on 2 or 3 year deals (well he just gave up a 2 run HR as I'm typing so an equal amount probably want him DFA'd). I think the Jays should be considering looking at all trades for payroll flexibility but I don't think they should be "giving" players away to save money.
  3. Did Buck just insinuate that Dalton's dad is fapping?
  4. Clearly the future of this franchise...can't miss
  5. The Jays could get cheap with Thole. Turn down the 1.25M option and have him go to arbitration. Save that potential $200K.
  6. Here is the question, if the Jays are offered a deal which is mainly a cost savings (some small pieces to help the team and/or low level prospects) should the Jays take it? I just don't know if this team should be thinking about downgrading talent at this point. I believe in Baltimore for next year about as much as I did this year, I don't see a standout team in the AL East. I know people are going to say "take the savings and spend it on upgrades" but I really don't think making multiple changes to end up at the same talent pool is what this team needs either. This F.O. and ownership is so much better off continuing to spend and run the business poorly than they are trying to suddenly get smart with their spending.
  7. We will do our due diligence on establishing whether we pick up our options on posters for next season. No rock will go un-turned in searching for replacement posters, whether through trade, free agency or internal replacements. Lastly we can guarantee you that ownership is committed in doing whatever it takes to make this board a contender. Sincerely, Your Mods.
  8. I still think the only way Reyes can be moved is if they talk about a trade with Detroit involving Iglesias.
  9. defense young man. Don't make the old guy school you on new fangled stuff.
  10. Come to the darkside...plus every Rays fan gets a Joe Maddon sex doll and a how to talk to girl course. Not that you'd ever use it (the course, not the JM sex doll which gets used every day.
  11. Isn't Kershaw 7.1?
  12. start the rumour on twitter that he called the Lion "Maricon"
  13. Jays statement should have been "The Jays care about animal safety. When it came to beating the cat with a bat we had Ryan Goins doing the swinging...that's how much we love animals"
  14. My votes AL 1. Trout 2. Brantly 3. Donaldson What I think will happen 1. Trout 2. Felix 3. V-Mart My NL votes 1. Lucroy 2. Cutch 3. Rendon My NL Predictions 1. Kershaw 2. Cutch 3. Stanton
  15. GD does not represent me or team Drinking in his liking of this post. Then again having a winner that shows up once every 6 months does seem optimal Sign me up.
  16. Everyone says "if the Jays are playing meaningful games in September...the attendance will be there". Meaningful series and they draw almost the same as they did for a September weekend series against Baltimore last year. There has always been this thought of win and the fans will follow...well history doesn't show that to be necessarily true. I'm pretty sure that ownership would tie payroll to the bottom line a lot more than a single revenue generator like attendance, but I think they now realize that in Toronto fans will show up based more on hype, than a small sense of success.
  17. people are freaking out on facebook and twitter. It's kind of entertaining.
  18. For every Moogy know-it-all argument on here...someone was arguing with him. I wouldn't have banned him (he did very little wrong). Everyone that says 5 days isn't enough, well if they respond to him when he's back, they will be getting a time out.
  19. I have one stacking Tennessee (Locker, Hunter and Walker in the free pool) and one stacking Indy like you did.
  20. K-Rate down and hitting much more often to left field. Jays truly tried to make him something he's not. Doesn't hurt that he's got great numbers in very limited PA's against LHP (.979 OPS in 34 PA's) but the Pirates are at least smart enough to not believe he's suddenly able to hit lefties.
  21. There probably is no closer I'd trust less than Nathan right now.
  22. This is why there shouldn't be a trade deadline in this league. Trevor May for Stanton
