  1. I haven't paid attention (and let both my BA and PG subscriptions expire) but I hear it's possibly the weakest for obvious bats ever. That's why I can't believe that Naylor isn't moving way up. He's got issues (conditioning, not a contact guy) but he's got to be a 70 power. I've never heard a bat like that. Not playing much more before the draft won't help his status though.
  2. I'd say more like only went for ball players...wouldn't be PC of me to call your wife a Groupie. Especially on be kind to a Mexican day. I think it would be great for you to write a first-hand piece for Breaking Blue on how the changes to the International rules are changing things (for the better and/or worse). Get someone like NJH to edit it for you.
  3. Your wife was a cleat chaser, wasn't she? I hope that translates okay as I didn't mean that as an insult. I'd like to add to the stuff about the academies. With the changes to the rules where kids are not allowed to attend major league sponsored academies before they sign, there are some in DR that are concerned about two things. The overall health of the youth of the nation (not to mention the health of baseball over time). Also, that some not so good locals are taking advantage of the kids. I don't think it was right that teams were essentially making deals with 14 year olds, but it's not the answer to ban these kids from something which helped them out.
  4. Tigers talking to the Jays about Navarro. Blaine Hardy?
  5. BP has and always will rank on ceiling. They are going take a lot of heat for this list though
  6. One of the best "under" bets this year for sure. I figure 85.5 or 86.5 will be the number
  7. forget about him, it's been done now. Okay still would be good, just give it another month or so. Also try Naylor closer to draft day.
  8. From a Facebook group I'm part of...it's a lot of basketball guys in the group I find. Some of the follow up comments Just wanted to say...this is why I stay here despite giving up on cheering for the Jays. I can't risk moving on and dealing with these people.
  9. and he's had very little love over those 2 years so I don't expect that to change if the Jays are struggling at points this season. I will say that he is one of those guys you watch and think "how are his defensive metrics just below average" as he looks much worse than that. Still, he doesn't deserve any s*** he takes from Jays fans.
  10. The question is why didn't BJMB or Breaking Blue get him for an online interview...and why don't we have a radio show.
  11. and OP (Borders) the guys are right. Keep the new threads to a minimum. Most times you can find a spot on another thread. That's not to say don't start new threads. Just think about them before doing so. Moderation duties done!
  12. I don't get the Goins votes. If Goins is playing, the anger will/should be displaced to anyone who is responsible for writing his name on the lineup card or the guy responsible for not putting someone better on the 25 man. Expectations of Goins should be so low now that you can't be angry that 80% of the time he's making outs.
  13. He has 8 kids...he's long dead inside. I actually read something recently about how his kids are all done baseball now so he took a job as a minor league manager.
  14. Highest in the U.S. I believe. They even tax visiting teams players.
  15. Brandon Morrow and Brandon Maurer for one spot. They count as only one person on the 40 man too
  16. The Jays best (I'm guessing) would be the better one to chase. 2000 the three top went 114 (Batista 41, Delgado 41, Fullmer 32). They had 7 guys hit 20 that year (top 7 players pull out a 24.2 fWAR, yet the team gives 1700+ PA's to below replacement level players, good to know it's a tradition).
  17. That's right I learned from Easy A that no young people deal in Anagrams. It's an odd skill to take any group of words and use all the letters to form new words. Amazingly enough it's never got me laid in bars.
  18. Big game pitcher and they are a lock for big games with Kempton in the fold. You don't go into September with Tommy John Recoveries...Same reason the Jays made the Dickey trade.
  19. Josh, Edwin, Jose and Russell is an anagram for Jewelers Judo Shin Loss or my favourite Injured Jowls Hoes Less (or Injured Jowls He Less So). Third top option is Juniors Jewels Sloshed.
  20. Are you talking about in the next 2 years or when he's 26? He'll be an average SS bat at worst IMO. With an opportunity to BABIP his way to a .350ish OBP. Rising K-Rates as he's moving up concern me a little. I don't think he'll ever be a top 3 SS. But take Jean Segura...he jumped out to legit fantasy value (I was just too f***ing stubborn to sell high) by just putting the ball in play and hitting some line drives. Lindor isn't flashy but the bat isn't a finished product yet either. Even if he's Escobar with two to three times the walks...is that a horrible asset? As someone that's never owned a legit fantasy SS in dynasty, I'd take Lindor coming through my system. I'm just going to only offer Boxy's perceived value for him.
  21. You know that I inquired about Bird and really like him (you just don't work into my 5 months of negotiations guidelines). But there still is the fact that he's going to be really really bad against lefties. Like Lind at his worst bad. I wish I was active enough to look at pitching matchups as I think Bird against righties only would be a huge asset in fantasy. No matter what if he's as good as I think he'll be against RHP his overall numbers will also give him solid value.
  22. yes, yes he will. He'll be in the lineup every day
  23. As much as it pains me to say...30 and 29 aren't young.
  24. I can tell you that I was going to top the mid rotation starter who isn't assured of a job for Rodon. Not so for Rondon. It makes sense though, Boxy has asked opinions of so many people on his team that we can just trade his assets without his permission.
