  1. Went to Perfect Game which is purely an Amateur draft site...although there is talk that they are going into prospect writing.
  2. Media still sells tickets unfortunately, it's not like people are saying "I'm buying tickets to see Osuna and Castro", but the media and fan buzz about them making the squad is keeping the Jays in the media pecking order (in a time of year which hockey and NCAA basketball is usually dominant (although home opener secondary market tickets are usually a good sign about positive buzz...and they have remained pretty constant. Do I think the Positive PR of having 2 kids that have skipped levels to make the bigs is a consideration here though...absolutely.
  3. Scrolled through for Spencer Estey references...didn't see any so I knew it must be a crap article.
  4. I liked Townsend's predictions until I realized that he's got no one in the AL winning more than 87 games and no one winning less than 72. I thought I was the only one that makes those kinds of predictions.
  5. It's not weird at all. West and Guilmet are not selling 1 ticket. Osuna and Castro are talked about more than Bautista and Donaldson right now. That's just good playing of the media. No media outlet is talking about AA's incomplete off-season at this point. This was started early in the off-season when suddenly every media outlet was talking about Castro. The business of sport takes precedent regardless...and there is a possibility that the product on the field won't be harmed at all.
  6. Now all grown up to be an annoying little Howie. I'll go with 85. And a big trade in June.
  7. I praised him for the one time he passed up on the 7th course at the buffet. I don't think the arms are going to be ruined. I think he's making a move that doesn't make the team better for the sake of selling a story. I can respect that as it is what sports has become. But it's not smart management. It's not like we are saying AA f***ed up and should have traded for Papelbon instead of this move. We are saying go with Preston Guilmet, as I mentioned earlier this isn't a huge deal as the Jays didn't lose any of the guys that will be replacing these guys upon failure. I have never thought that Pitching will kill the Jays this year. I think not having an ounce of offensive depth in the minors will. They brought a good team (possibly their best possible) to April. I like the Jays chances of being close even as I don't think anyone in the East is overly strong (unless you could magically blend the Jays and Red Sox into one douche filled team as they have the offensive depth that the Jays just don't have)
  8. And I think 87 wins might win the division. So your math works.
  9. Probably one of the best post Stroman injury lineups the team could have. Now I await some 30 somethings to get hurt (and hope it's not Edwin for personal reasons)
  10. Deja vu all over again. At least this time Plan B kind of exists and the cost is a small amount of value years from now, and not 100's of Millions in value lost. I got May 1st for the first Osuna/Castro supporter to call for him to be sent down. Now the interesting question is; where do you send them down to? Nothing like telling a 20 year old that you are ready for the majors, but oops we want you to work on some stuff...in High A (for the warm Florida air if it's pre-June will be the reasoning).
  11. If Castro repeats his minor league stats (that's a huge if)...that probably leaves him right around a top 50 reliever in baseball (assuming he's staying under 70 innings in my scenario). That's pretty good, but also the best case scenario. Nearly a win out of a reliever may be the difference for this team, but I still doubt he outperforms the guys you mentioned earlier, and not a lot of guys can repeat their A Ball numbers in the Majors.
  12. Don't forget Martin...he's also making player personnel decisions now. Someone has to think of a way to do a contest predicting all the rookies numbers.
  13. You obviously don't know much about GD's background. He's sell that ball at a 150% markup. And I like to divide fat chicks into Sloppy Fat and Compact Fat. While Sloppy Fat is probably self explanatory, my scales probably get tipped sooner than most.
  14. On this board. we have about a 3 page limit on rumour threads (about 15 on roster movement and trades) before we get to talking about food or fat chicks.
  15. 4 wheel drive or not...you should not be behind the wheel tonight.
  16. No wonder they cut him...he was throwing with the wrong hand.
  17. Looks like he was added the same day as Moncada.
  18. as much as I hate Fantrax's emails about players being added to the player pool (mostly because they are low level players), I really wish Yahoo would set up an opt in service where you could get emails for players added to the pool.
  19. I'm torn. On one hand I believe it's a good legal move without any rules broken. On the other hand I hate good things happening for NJH. Luckily I have 3 hands and the third hand says that he's a Red so they will move him to the pen and this move really won't matter at all. So I vote yes keep him, and I hope he gives you crabs...again.
  20. So the three scenarios here for Osuna and Castro. Unsuccessful. have to go back down to the minors and their first option gets burned. Successful in the pen. Stay up all year. Jays make playoffs no one cares they weren't the reason and it looks like the best move ever. Successful in the pen. Jays don't make playoffs. Jays have to make a decision next year whether to stretch them out again. Sadly the first scenario is probably the second best option for the F.O. even if it does burn an option. There are actually about a hundred other scenarios but my mind only allows me to think in simplistic ways.
  21. Sanchez had 100 and a third...Norris 125
  22. maybe he makes a flip book
  23. It's no offense to you Ang, I hate that you live a sub third world conditions and still have more things than me.
  24. I wish there were a thanks log. I'm sure JFAs NJH and Ang get the majority of my thanks...and I dislike all of them.
  25. Like Travis Snider...who they didn't like from day 1.
