Oh yeah but I was waiting on Gibbers. I had Devers, Urias, the number 1, Ozuna, Conforto and Panik as an offer for Machado. The alternate offer was Devers, Fernandez and the number 1. So I wasn't moving Devers until I heard from him.

I should have moved Devers earlier in the off-season (before every prospect site named him as a future 1B). More than soured on him though. Much like with my ex-wife...gain 20 pounds and you are out the door.

Need 1 or 2 teams for a curling bonspiel in Cookstown (Innisfil, hwy 89 and 27) for this Sunday. Teams of 4. $60 plus one dish for the potluck (team cost not individual). 3 games guaranteed. We need a pool every off-season so that makes sense. I did one once that had it's issues with missed infractions and stuff but with this group it would be very good I'm sure. Trading becomes limited and some veteran former stars get dropped sometimes but it's interesting.

For minimal driving do Pirates Friday night (stay in Pittsburgh), Cleveland Saturday (stay in Cleveland or Toledo if you want to save money...maybe even add in a Mudhens game), Detroit Sunday...drive home without staying in Detroit if that concerns you. I think it's 13 hours total driving time First week of June Pirates vs. Angels, Indians vs. Royals, Tigers vs. White Sox (opponents suck I know) July 8th (with a small twist) Pirates vs. Cubs, Indians vs. Yankees, Back to Toronto for Tigers at Jays. ( a truly sweet trip) Aug 19th Pirates vs. Marlins, Indians vs. Jays, Tigers vs. Red Sox Sept 23 Pirates vs. Nats, Indians vs. White Sox, Tigers vs. Royals. I think these are the only weekends that work (I didn't look at April or May). Edit...if you are willing to do weeknights I didn't search that.

The guy is an open book...always has been. He's appeared on MLB Radio every week for about 7 years. As for the extension. EE signing at a number that this F.O. is willing to sign him for (under market value) is going to make Bats look pretty greedy. I'd be most comfortable giving him 2 years with 2 big number buyout options (like a $7M buyout as a show of good faith). If NL gets the DH his value goes up, so maybe he gets an offer close to market. I really don't know anything and added nothing to this conversation. I'm just going to ban myself now. -

I never had issue with AA's minor league signings. It was the back end of his 40/25 man that was an issue. Carrying 4 or 5 catchers at points. Several relievers in the minors but on the 40 (I think there were 5 or 6 at points). It doesn't do much to have minor league signings if you will only use them if there are 60 day DL spots
