  1. The offers have been really s***. JG34 was the only one to put a legit offer forward. I'll move forward with my middle of the pack team
  2. Cubs open to trading Bryant!
  3. to me EE, to Dinger YU. Dinger to confirm
  4. It's the Nats. Once Lerner interferes they will be back in play
  5. I need hitting especially a 1B. I assume that Boxy has 11 of them so I'll hit him up soon.
  6. I think the interesting thing about it is that they knew about it before not offering Morton a qualifying offer. I stay the f*** away from him this off-season.
  7. Just the stupidest thing I've ever seen. And the 114 wRC+ winning in the OF...just terrible. Goes to show how far behind coaches still are.
  8. Where there is smoke there is fire. Kopech made a post about why he wears 34, sparking rumours that he has been asked to give up number 34. Harper to White Sox???
  9. Mallex Smith trade set the market. More control, cheaper and higher ceiling than Pillar but give Pillar the "he's done it for a few years now" higher floor value. I would say lower than what the Rays got for Smith. I like the return the Rays got because it was a position of strength (injury free the Rays OF is Pham, Meadows and Keirmaier) and got a position of need. I thought Seattle would be the destination for Pillar. I'll look at some potential destinations and see what I think is fair return.
  10. I'd like to see them go 27 until April 30th when pitchers aren't quiet up to strength. Then expand to 40 in September but only 25 on the lineup card. You'd still have lots of maneuvers to make as you wouldn't put the other 4 starters on the lineup.
  11. Didn't like Hudgens in High School Musical, but loved the home video work.
  12. I agree that you don't use your best reliever as an opener. You probably use the one that struggles the most with making in game adjustments. It's so much more than that though. You usually believe your closer is going to any batters they face. The opener you are pretty much picking who they are facing. They are going in with a set game plan that has been worked on as well. As for whoever was talking about days rest, the Rays discussed having 9 pitchers which never faced more than 9 batters could easily go on 2 days rest (or 50+ games a year). If they can find a way to use just 11 hitters (or find a way where 2 hitters can pitch) they are really going to mess up traditional thinking.
  13. Hmmmm. Maybe a day to have a bidding war. I'm willing to put Gibson up for trade. What I need back is at least a 50% starting goalie, a young forward (who is already creeping up to that top 30 status) and a first rounder. Lets start there. If I get an offer I like I'll let everyone beat that bid for a couple days.
  14. The Phillies were 200 Defensive Runs Saved behind the Braves last year. Their path to improving is so much easier than spending $700M. I would hope they don't take the easy way out.
  15. I know the narrative is that Colorado's F.O. is stupid but I think Gray's price tag is going to be high enough that the Jays are out. I do think Pillar is getting traded and Colorado or the Nats make a lot of sense. But I just don't see Gray talks going far.
  16. Bauer ripping voters for not having him in the top 3 is amazing. It annoys me that baseball treats this as "finalists" and not just the top 3 in voting.
  17. I want nothing to do with Morton. Kikuchi or bust
  18. Just a spot where some of the proposed changes can sit. I don't think it will be a hugely busy year for this stuff but I can't ever find this stuff in the Around Baseball thread so new thread. Come fight me if you don't like it.
  19. So Starbucks is out as a sponsor now too! PS Boxy, the Region of Peel has become the cycling capital of Canada. Once that label is out there it's only going to get worse.
  20. Real Boxy came out way more this episode, and the podcast is better for it. He's ranted against cyclists, transit and drivers over the history of this podcast. Boxy hates transportation.
  21. $109M projected. I can't see it being below $135 though.
  22. Go full Asian. Sign Kikuchi and Ryu. Then 1 3 year deal reliever. Make some minor trades (Pillar for an arm not needed to be put on the 40), Pompey for an arm that is also out of options who can try and earn a spot in spring (if he even has that value...if not dump him at the first FA signing you make)
  23. Any word what his opponent (other pitchers) are sitting at?
  24. so tomorrow we add Diaz, Perez and Murphy. I think the F.O. sees something in Leiter. I don't think he'll be the next off unless they are sure they will be able to keep him. Nine OF's on the 40. They will be looking to deal from there IMO. I think it's 36 on the roster now though BTS.
