  1. It's not ridicule, but you said on June 10th that I should have kept Choo instead of Kemp
  2. Yeah it's more of a last laugh for the ridicule, not the trade as a whole. Wheeler's been the better player since the trade and is probably the more valuable asset.
  3. Jake Lamb is already getting the call. He's the highest player drafted in June to make the Majors, edging Chris Taylor. Great pick FTD.
  4. I think there's bias in how closers are perceived for fantasy. At first glance I thought "wow, great job by KingKat to get a good young pitcher in Odorizzi and only give up a closer." But really, Jansen would probably go right around Odorizzi if we redrafted and possibly higher. If Austin Jackson isn't going to run or hit for power or average, it'll be hard for him to amass value. Worth buying low on for an owner like KingKat though. Taking timelines into account, I think this is fair. KingKat has owned Zimmerman in the past too lol. I remember I was ripped for initially flipping Zimmerman to Boxy for Beltre.
  5. You can't tell me that guys like LeBron, Durant, Paul and Curry would ever lead a team to win totals like 17, 26 or 31. Also, isn't Ricky Rubio supposed to be good?
  6. It's different in basketball though. One player can impact the game so much more and 53% of teams make the playoffs. Top 5 players take over games on a consistent basis. Can you really be a dominant player if the opposition never gets dominated? Love is a great player and is very useful as a second option IMO, but I don't think he's as good as the stats he's piled up over the years would suggest.
  7. Kevin Love has never made the playoffs though. I don't know if you can be a top 5 player in the NBA without having ever made the playoffs.
  8. Wow. This always made too much sense to not happen. Go T-Wolves.
  9. That's not what I look like so cool story bro Feel free to continue not actually arguing the point you're dead set on defending.

  11. Not just sample size... he thinks samples that aren't selected specifically to fit a narrative are for pussies. "last 30 and a third innings pitched." I wonder why that very specific sample was chosen rofl
  12. You said it was your opinion though! I don't think anyone's able to say with any confidence that Smoral's fastball has more movement than Norris'. Smoral's only made 10 pro starts and I doubt more than a couple dozen people have see multiple outings of both. Also, they have similar strikeout numbers this year but with Norris pitching in the upper minors and Smoral the Appy League. I think the excitement around Smoral is amplified greatly by the fact that we don't know much about him.
  13. Have you personally seen enough of their fastballs and out pitches to say that?
  14. Chris Davis is a good hitter, guys. Give him credit.
  15. Are Andy Burns and Taylor Cole even prospects?
  16. No, the player and team can agree to have any number of teams on a no-trade list. There may be an official date each year on which each player has to submit their list, or that may be variable too.
  17. You're right. Players routinely populate their no-trade list with the teams who are most likely to be interested in them, since it gives them leverage. Players sometimes get extra $$ to agree to waive their no-trade clause. There's no reason to list bad or small-market teams that will never be interested in you. (I edited this post... I initially read the blurb wrong too, it's written poorly)
  18. Source? Nothing I've read says anything like that about Boyd.
  19. Jen-Ho Tseng is the Cubs best pitching prospect. He's legit.
  20. I drafted Gibson in the initial MiLB draft and was pretty high on him for most of last year. But then Minnesota called him up and I really didn't like what I saw. Threw him into the big offseason trade to clear an MiLB spot. I don't think his walk rate is for real at 2.37 per nine. And if that rises to 2.75-3.00, the whole package no longer works. He is youngish though and has decent stuff. Deserves to be owned.
  21. I know how to use search functions so it actually only took me about 11 seconds (I had remembered that someone said Happ is better than McCarthy). It would make me feel really good if you'd learn something from this by not using the "I don't care what the stats say... this guy just gets hit hard" rationale in the future. Embracing DIPS doesn't have to be difficult!
  22. Javier Baez with the twelfth-inning go-ahead blast. Wow.
