  1. It's funny how there are no bad people in the world anymore. Just good people who make mistakes.
  2. Oh c'mon, starting Hector Noesi in the playoffs was risky! I don't like playing guys like him until later in the week.
  3. Hector Noesi (one of my PD stats specials) with another quality start. I needed to counter NJH's four two-starters and am content with what Noesi and Turner came up with.
  4. Who do you think you are, getting in the way of this narrative. Bautista's a conceited prick. They can't win with him.
  5. Wow the Ravens cut him. Doesn't excuse their prior transgressions on the issue though.
  6. "After days of research, I have come to the conclusion that this year’s data is inconclusive." It's one year of data, what did he expect to find? And he didn't even add up all the pitchers into a total... just analyzed many microscopic samples lol. What a brutal article.
  7. Haha yeah I love all those day games! Doesn't hurt that the Cubs have oodles of fun young talent too. MLB.TV is the best, I can't recommend it enough for hardcore fans.
  8. I was hoping to avoid facing NJH in the first round, damn. Very happy to win the Turkey Bacon Club though. This year was a challenge.
  9. Well Carrasco has always had great stuff and good PD stats, this year he's just stepped it up a notch. Guy averages 95 with three quality off-speed offerings. His career stats are actually decent too (3.75 xFIP). I'd dispute that he's "sucked considerably." I'm not ready to annoint him a long-term fixture for my team but I do think there's something special there.
  10. With his stifling start today, Carrasco has 103 innings of 9.00/1.92/0.52 ball (2.84 xFIP). You don't think that's meaningful?
  11. I posted about this a while ago in the BBDL thread. Between Kluber, Carrasco, Tomlin, House and maybe Salazar, the Indians are doing something special with pitchers who don't have top prospect pedigrees. You almost have to pick up any random minor league pitcher they promote.
  12. Yeah I sat on Carrasco for half the season hoping Cleveland would give him another shot. Nice to see a plan work out. Same with TJ House - I stuck with him while they jerked him around between AAA and MLB and now he's a stud. My whole rotation has been untouchable for months.
  13. What a clusterf*** lol
  14. Yeah I'm going to need to win your way in the playoffs. Crush the pitching ratios, pile up wins and Ks and hope for a couple offensive stats to fall in place. Rizzo and Cruising Chris have been carrying my power production all season.
  15. They should drop Happ. It's not always about $/WAR. Happ won't be valuable enough to the 2015 Blue Jays to warrant retaining at $6.7M; they have many capable starters and need the $.
  16. Except Colby performed well above his true talent in 2013 and Adam Jones didn't. Colby just isn't a great player. But his stock may be down enough that a pillow contract to stay in Toronto could make sense.
  17. We're still hearing about Brett Cecil being a "15 game winner" lol
  18. Some people think "50/50" applies to any scenario with two possible outcomes. GD has railed at length about this before lol
  19. Nah, Papi has lost his physical faculties. He's just counter-acted that by beefing up his chemical faculties.
  20. And it's not like I'd learn anything even if Buck and Pat spent all day reading Fangraphs and Bill James. Let them be goofballs.
  21. I like Rex Hudler in the same way some people enjoy Hawk. He's like a cartoon character. No TV crews are in tune enough with new philosophies to make insightful analytic comments, so why hold them all to that standard or even hope they try. The commentators are there for comedic relief.
  22. Castillo may be in the Major Leagues before the season is up.
  23. You can also contact Hurl's proxy, GD.
  24. It did, the signing deadline was in July! The Blue Jays must be in the bottom nine to get a protected pick.
