  1. Friedman will act as the General Manager, teams just like having fancier titles than that. AA's title is "Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations."
  2. Oh wow! They're probably paying Friedman a truckload... and deservedly. I bet BTS already has his Dodgers hat haha
  3. I would be happy for you. I like when people make bold decisions that work out. You've been holding onto Martin for quite a while.
  4. Hey Moogster, people are talking about creating a new dynasty league. You can register your interest here: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4000-30-Team-Dynasty-League-Thread?p=436644#post436644
  5. I'm more comfortable characterizing them as 'good.' Schulz's slider drew six whiffs in 25 pitches and he got plenty of chases overall. Maybe he's one of those guys who will turn a corner converting to relief full-time.
  6. Schulz had good PD stats in his brief MLB look and has a live arm. Maybe there's something there.
  7. Honestly, almost all of the trash-talking that happens in DDL is extremely good-natured. It's transaction discussion that seems to annoy Gibbers, and I find that stuff the life-blood of the league. I like that everyone offers their opinion on a big trade and it rarely gets personal.
  8. Hands off of Jeets! With the xxDL I'll be able to continue saying I have three sure-fire HOF hitters.
  9. He may even be a better player than Melky. Getting Saunders on the cheap to plug into CF or LF is what a smart value-conscious team like the Rays would do.
  10. Go get him AA
  11. Donaldson checks off all the boxes that make players underrated: hitter in pitcher's park, great defender but without gold gloves, didn't make majors until mid 20s, not a big average hitter, wasn't an elite prospect, plays in small market, good power hitter yet has never topped 30 HR, 100 RBI or .500 SLG, etc. He's a total stud and the four years mean we're not "mortgaging the future."

    Leafs!!
  13. I hope more teams go for it next year, it makes the whole season more interesting. It felt a little weird having only one team try to get in and miss.
  14. Nope, Frias' PD stats are godly lol. 41.4% chase rate! Oh my. It's a real shame he didn't make a third start to retain SP eligibility for 2015. Intriguing speculative holds guy regardless.
  15. I'd take Floyd high in the waiver draft if a good-ballpark team gives him a rotation spot. Steamer think he's useful too.
  16. Sammy, sent you another note on Proboards. ---- Floyd's peripherals were very good in his short stint this year. If he gets a rotation look out of ST I think he's interesting.
  17. What's worse: batting Harper 6th or batting Alex Gordon 6th?
  18. I don't think there's a chance at all that Mattingly will be gone. He won his divison and there weren't many/any complaints about his playoff management. His bullpen simply sucked outside of Kenley Jansen. Players seem to like and respect him too. Obviously Williams and Ausmus should get fired, but I don't think it'll happen. Most managers who will get fired have already been fired. My #1 who could still get fired is Fredi Gonzalez.
  19. Wtf was that lol. Posey can't even get his own rule to be applied with him as the baserunner
  20. Jesus Montero is projected for a 115 wRC+, virtually identical slash-line as McCann. Yankees should never have traded him Edit: Also, Jamie Moyer checks in with a 2.8 WAR, 163/48 K/BB in his 200 innings. Better than a lot of real #2 starters lol
  21. Cleveland's FO and coaching staff don't get enough attention for their work over the past couple years. Many of those guys are totally outperforming their prospect pedigrees.
  22. Why is it funny then? I though Romo was a good buy for Boxy.
  23. Most closers are older than 25 and so shouldn't be targeted under any circumstance?
