  1. Romo is a free agent who will get a closing gig. I'd give him a good chunk of cash and would be happy if the Blue Jays went after him. All of Romo's peripherals are exactly the same as they were a few years ago. I like Boxy's acquisition of him very much.
  2. It's an interesting risk/reward thing I guess. Gibbers is betting that three good hitters come out of Cuba and Maeda gets posted. If that happens, he'll come out having made a great deal.
  3. Those guys aren't Tanaka/Abreu though (Cy Young candidate before he got hurt & elite bat in his prime). I don't like the return for GP, although as he says, something could unfold.
  4. Well done GD. Jake deGrom is a no-brainer tho. ----- Can the FAP Contest get posted to Breaking Blue?
  5. I want the Giants to win too but after the Nats tie this up lol
  6. Oh. Giants still have Hunter Strickland so they'll win for sure.
  7. Tanner Roark is a starter! He could go 8+ innings. Lincecum could go long for the Giants. No, because I want to cheer for it to never end! Making a prediction would affect that.
  8. His peripherals are untenable though. Doesn't walk, strikes out 30% of the time, not a huge BABIP guy, unspectacular batted ball profile, etc. I don't think there's anything there. I like Jed Lowrie a lot better as a cheap-ish second base option.
  9. Why will they be gassed? Everyone but Petit and Stammen threw an inning or fewer, and they get an off-day. They'll be refreshed.
  10. He has the tools and stuff, but it's been quite a while since he's actually hit. 2013 was the "buy low" year.
  11. Roark was like a #2 starter this year lol. This game isn't going to get increasingly more sloppy as regular season extra innings games do. I was only 10 when the Braves/Astros game went 18 but I remember it vividly.
  12. Such is the reality of baseball in 2014. This game may never end.
  13. Eh? Yesterday's Cards-Dodgers games one of the best games I've ever seen, and tonight's is turning into a great pitching duel. Also, this Giants-Nats game has been great.
  14. Somebody wants to be better at their job? It's a miracle!
  15. People who think Bryce Harper is all hype make me laugh
  16. Yeah I was thinking this morning that they're very similar. I'd probably take Pence for the extra R/RBI.
  17. I didn't end up needing it since I swept the hitting, but Cueto (and my other two-starts, Price and Carrasco) had quite the championship week this year: 2-0, 14 K, 1.13/14.00/.207
  18. Yeah I'm not in love with Pence's skills either but he racks up counting stats and never gets hurt. The needs matched up for me and I thought the value was fair. We have to be constantly adjusting our brains to the run environment. I went into the offseason thinking "I'd love to get a 30 HR, 100 RBI outfielder," but there were only four of those guys in 2014 and I wasn't getting any of them lol. Pence's 20 bombs seem a little meh, but they were good for 17th among outfielders and his 106 runs were good for 2nd. He's a productive, durable player who I'll plug into the lineup in April and forget about.
  19. Can we contact you through Proboards?
  20. I meant for fantasy! They're pretty much a toss-up. I slightly prefer Belt though, projections aside.
  21. Belt and Hosmer have practically identical Steamer projections.
  22. Steamer FIP projections for my rotation: Price 3.22 Carrasco 3.27 Cueto 3.47 Shields 3.63 Lackey 3.63 Bailey 3.71 House 3.76 Porcello 3.84 Cain 3.89 Barnes 3.96 Harang 4.40 Need to clear some of it out lol
