  1. I need to get a Cubs hat.
  2. Anthony Bosch http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/06/06/who-is-anthony-bosch/
  3. He's more interesting than 95% of the players AA claims on waivers. I like this.
  4. I don't get it.
  5. It's going to take me a while to get over this. Such a horrible tragedy.
  6. Just going by the spreadsheet, oops. I'll probably end up giving up 40 instead and getting a later pick upgrade. It's definitely Trout.
  7. I'll still do that, this just keeps me from having to line up a 4 way. Young MLBer/acquired top prospect + Appel + Almora + pick is a good chunk of offerable talent.
  8. I like Appel a lot and Almora is said to have a high upside. Wanted to clear a roster spot too. Also want to build my own stable of prospects to deal, since it's impossible to trade with all the rebuilding teams unless you have that. I've missed out on all the great players traded so far because I haven't had pieces they want. From conversations I've had, people seem to value Appel and Almora.
  9. Maddon probably already knows where he'll be managing next year. The Blue Jays don't need a different manager anyway, they need better players.
  10. BALCO Pharm Team 2015 lineup ages: C Brian McCann 31 1B Anthony Rizzo 25 2B Dustin Pedroia 31 3B Adrian Beltre 36 SS Jed Lowrie 31 CF Andrew McCutchen 28 OF Matt Kemp 30 OF Hunter Pence 32 UTIL Prince Fielder 31 (Chris Carter 28) Average age of the starting nine is 30.6. I'll likely keep Beltre until retirement for the same reasons Dinger laid out re: Ortiz.
  11. Ackley has ~3.5 years of ML service and needs 6 to become a free agent. Now that his contract is up he'll go back into the arbitration process like everyone else does.
  12. Yeah it was Tulo. I don't think anyone's getting Tulo, it was impossible to agree to terms with Jaysblue even though I was willing to overpay and Tulo's supposedly available.
  13. Nah, I was packaging Votto with one of your arms for a different player. But after learning yesterday that NJH was getting Votto I moved onto using an arm as a centrepiece for someone else. I'm just kicking myself for not agreeing to those deals on their own... was getting Chris Archer for Matt Davidson lol. Shouldn't have waited for the other parts of the deal to materialize, since that three-way component was so good.
  14. At least we finally came to a trade agreement that involved actual players. Hypothetical, but it still counts.
  15. Yeah that probably makes sense. Yesterday it seemed like the other owner and I were close to making a deal but he just hasn't responded. No, you guys were just separate options for the other owner to consider.
  16. No, they're still alive. Our agreement is based on someone else wanting the pitcher and he hasn't gotten back to me. I could change course and trade Chris in a different deal that makes sense for my team on its own merits.
  17. Cruisin' Chris could be on the market. 37 hats this year.
  18. I have lots of starting pitching available Spanky, and may be interested in the #8 pick.
  19. Yeah I love it for NJH. Neil Walker is a valuable player in his own right.
  20. Well I like Pedroia as a bounce-back and prefer his bat-to-ball skills and contextual factors.
  21. Just send out some PMs. I'm trying to work out a deal for a good young-ish pitcher that I can flip.
  22. Apparently the Braves are targeting GMDM for their GM vacancy: "John Hart turned down the offer to be the Atlanta Braves' general manager, prompting the team to focus on current assistant GM John Coppolella and Kansas City Royals GM Dayton Moore as its top two targets, sources told Yahoo Sports on Tuesday." http://sports.yahoo.com/news/john-hart-turns-down-offer-to-be-braves--gm-031751492.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  23. He must have had some sort of free movement clause. Great move by the Dodgers, other teams have tried to lure Friedman away in the past. Edit:
