    There's no risk, so I'd like to see them find out. I think Johan can be productive even at an ~86.5 mph average.

    One of the other guys in Houston will likely start the season as closer, but I do like Crain's chances to get double-digit saves by year's end. Nice pick NJH.

    Hit FX just as cool and useful as Pitch FX, but the public doesn't (for whatever reason) have access to it. Only the teams do. Same with Field FX. But the hope is that eventually both will be released for our consumption.

    lol. Why though? The whole point of this exercise is to drum up twitter buzz. There are no stakes whatsoever. It's entirely for fun. And this is more fun than Cabrera or Jeter winning.

    That's my whole gig lol. I don't plan on ever promoting and sticking with a prospect unless I get into an obvious rebuilding situation. Anything decent I end up with in the June draft will likely be flipped for a dependable starting pitcher.

    Well, BEST certainly appears to like him. I wonder if they have Hit FX integrated into that.

    You don't think there could be something to Navarro getting tired of riding buses and deciding to work hard to improve all aspects of him game? I'm actually optimistic that Navarro turned over a new leaf in 2013.

    Maybe even 5! In 2012 he was on pace for 6.0 (for 155 games) when he was suspended.

    It's worth it if you're going to be following all of MLB for the entire season. But if you're mostly just interested in the Blue Jays and are only interested in watching other teams on occasion, then it's not.

    Basic is the slightly-cheaper version of MLB.TV that doesn't let you watch the away team feeds or watch on certain devices. But you can still watch every game in HD. It's $109.99. Premium is $129.99 but lets you pick your feed, download the AtBat app for free and watch on any device.

    I understand. Letting a ball drop intentionally goes against the spirit of the game. That's fair. But it was no typing mistake, I've actually been thinking about this for a while lol.

    I obviously know what the infield fly rule prevents. I'm just asking why we need to prevent fly ball double plays. If it's an aesthetics thing, what makes the aesthetics bad? Everyone's fine with the other double play forms. Edit - Also, there's another situation in which the defense benefits from not making a play: Runner on third, less than two outs, deep fly ball into playable foul territory. If the game situation is such that getting an out is not worth sacrificing a run (i.e., the defense is leading by one run late), the defense should let the ball drop.

    I don't have any problem with the length of a game. Watching baseball is a different experience than watching other sports and I like that. You're not going to get non-stop action no matter how restrictive the time rules are. But I can understand why it annoys some. You'd still have to go to commercial for mid-inning pitching changes since it takes a while for the guy to run in from the bullpen. But limiting the new pitcher to two or three warm-ups (and thus the commercial break to a minute) makes sense. I wouldn't remove a pitcher's right to leave the mound mid-inning. There's no way to limit the number of pitchers a team can carry since there's no definition to use for "pitcher." It wouldn't be possible to legislate that without coming up with a bunch of new rules that go against the basic framework of the game. I'd also get rid of the DH but I don't want to open that whole can of worms lol. It's been discussed at length before to no conclusion.
