  1. that's Beeston's pocket money for cigars. he needs to have a bigger stash to use for signing free agents
  2. sure, why not just use the hybrid icing rule from hockey so the base runner can just round third and go to the dugout. this is NOT a good thing
  3. MLB will start looking like special ed sports days with all the protective gear. http://www.legacydad.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/overprotective-parents.jpg
  4. so sick and tired of the f***ing PC nanny state running everyone's lives. can we just tell these *******s to DIAFF? what are they going to do next, remove the take out play at second or the swipe tag? like this off season wasn't bad enough already....
  5. the face he makes every time he opens a box of Timmys...
  6. AA's idea of a three way is him alone in a room with a giro and a box of donuts. the fat greek is gonna sell the rest of the farm off for some magic beans.
  7. never said any different. not sure why you are trying to make the point when I already agree with you? lol
  8. he's an *******, but he's not the only one and I dont see much out there that is worth 5 years. the FA market is pretty bad this year. the few top players who are out there are asking ridiculous money + years that dont make sense. not that making sense is AA's strong side. AA needs to make a couple of shrewd moves and the team has to have a lot of things fall their way for this next season to not be heart breaking. AA could empty the farm and still only have a 75 win team.
  9. no top FA will be joining the jays this off season unless AA can get more than one agreeing as long as the other one agrees to a deal. the jays are too many moves from being a playoff team and top FA will only go for money AA isn't willing to pay or a team that is heading to the playoffs. last years moves left the team farther away from the playoffs and with half the farm they had before last off season.
  10. if pigs could fly... if chickens had lips... if the jays win a world series lol
  11. exactly... AA can do the same as last year. sell the future to suck now. then he can get his ass fired and we can start over with someone who knows something about baseball?
  12. walks and HRs combined really made it ugly at times. I can see him having a solid year next year, but he's not an ace.
  13. I find it hard to see Dickey giving up more dingerz next year. have to hope less of the contact is 400ft+.
  14. last year's panic move that went so colossally wrong still stings. got to hope the fat greek's sport gut ha gotten smarter.
  15. probably? hard, rude, you gotta be shittin me pass.... we have a s***** catcher who cant catch already or hit already.
  16. yeah, a guy named Jose who actually fit a need on the team.
  17. the longer it takes AA to get something done, the more I fear he might do something colossally stupid, like trade all of the farm system for guys on bad contracts the same way he did last year.,
  18. cant get value right in trades, cant draft or teach... makes for a last place team, oh wait... we were.
  19. if that's all the league has, they are really stupid and AROID will make even more money.
  20. the lack of understanding of the bid system scared a lot of people. I still say cash is cheaper than giving up real prospects. a company can make more money, but getting more good prospects is really hit and miss. if they can get a top of the rotation guy and it's only cash... within reason, it's always the right move.
  21. Darvish is looking like a big bargain now. I remember a lot of posters talking about how the bid and cost for Darvish was way too much. Funny how most of those are on the Tanaka train now.
  22. if that is the "reason" then the league has the dumbest lawyers in the world.
  23. Tanaka makes just as much sense as Darvish did and for all the same reasons, but that didn't make Darvish happen. AA and Beeston couldn't get their s*** together when the hot deal was there and instead shot their load on some old hag of a deal. I'm with you in the fear category and for lots of reasons. our front office doesn't seem to have a clue of player value in trades and out farm hasn't had a thoroughbred make it through the system in years. the odds of things actually going our way seem dismal no matter how they try to do it. basically our front office is getting s*** faced in the corner hoping someone drinks them pretty before they pass out. yikes...
