  1. in AAA he doesn't have to be counted on for 6-8 innings a game. they can monitor his innings and keep him on a leash. they cant rest him like that if he comes up. he hasn't even done a full year in AAA even so his innings there would be counted closely as well. he wont make 30 starts this year no matter what.
  2. problem with him being a starter straight out of camp is that he would not be allowed to pitch 30 starts. they have to shut him down. so it might be more prudent to let him start in AAA and then come up when he is needed.
  3. McGowan and Morrow in the starting 5 would be like throwing matches in a gunpowder factory.... not a matter of if will blow up, just a matter of when.
  4. welcome to the new world order of hope and no change.
  5. I mean all AL teams play each other just as many times. so if there are really s***** teams everyone gets a chance to kick the s*** out of them and if there are really good teams everyone has to get their ass handed too them.
  6. disagree.... I'd like them to do away with inter league games (which will never happen) and I'd like to see a balanced schedule where all teams play each other the same amount of games. meeting division teams 18 times a year is just as lame. especially when the gaps in division quality is so huge.
  7. same as Spanky. Pirates fan growing up.... still keep an eye on them. I'll root for anyone playing against the Red sox or the Yankees.
  8. come on... cut him a break. that's a posed picture where he's getting told exactly what to do. they have a publicity guy who you should blame for this picture.-
  9. I'm most interested in his time home to second... he turned doubles and triples in singles last year. he'll hit, the question will be if he has any legs for both offense and his D. if he can run, this team is a hell of a lot better off than last year keeping in mind, of course, that they sucked moose balls last year and an improvement wouldn't take much.
  10. I think it's pathetic when players who haven't played because they are out with injuries all season get voted in. it's 8th grade prom queens. the most popular person gets votes.
  11. at what point do the blue jays stop wasting money sending scouts to see players they never intend on paying for?
  12. anyone who knows me would laugh at that question. you can take the Canadian out of Canada, but you can't take the Canadian out of them. been here for almost 25 years. have to agree... a hot goalie can steal a one off game. Price was super hot today and we have to hope he has this kind of game against sweden. this was the best game I've seen team canada play in a LONG time. they had a system and all 25 guys bought into it. 60 minutes of almost flawless hockey and they needed. I was really worried that the americans would win. they had been very good.
  13. Canada if they make it there. not watching more hockey if they lose today. lol
  14. isn't this a little like the whole steroid thing 15 years ago. everyone knows it's going on but no one says anything and if anyone does it turns into a he said, she said, someone put a needle in his ass kind of thing?
  15. I'll bet the jays front office wants this more than anyone. it's great free press. free advertising is always good for any business.
  16. hard to believe there is still that big of a pull. we should tell JPA that letting him go is good for business I guess. lol I doubt I'll be on that continent this year, so I'll have to stick with mlb.tv and hope they dont add more s*** that doesn't work this year.
  17. how are season tickets going this year compared to last?
  18. however it was intended, it made Beltran feel he had to make a statement saying he nor his agent had received any offers from the Jays.
  19. Beltran came out and said he never got an offer.
  20. token offers is what they do to calm the fringe fan base. it's happened repeatedly over AA's tenure. the other one is when they straight out lie about offers. IE Beltran... smoke and mirrors...
  21. stats be damned AA is feeling it? lol betting on the law of averages sounds a lot like betting on AA's gut feelings. it's how the fat greek rolls.
  22. If AA wins the lottery this year and "everything" falls the jays way he'll be around next year, but if they end up in 4th in the east, he'll be gone.
  23. blaming the WBC is lame. sure BL hurt himself there, but that could have happened anywhere and cant really be blamed on the WBC. the Jays babied ALL their starting pitchers and position players even after the WBC was finished. guys were only playing 4-5 innings every other day??? I get doing that the first week of ST, but doing it right up until opening day is mental and the team started off flat. I buy the things cant go worse to a certain extent, but changes were not made when everyone knew they needed to be made. JPA should never have been the starting catcher last year. after all the money and players the team spent last year, not picking Russel Martin was a sin of stupidity and falls on AA. the Fact that Bonifacio was even in the trade was ridiculous and only surpassed in in insanity level by the fact that it took them so long to figure out that he was a SOS. jays are already better this year because JPA and Bonifacio wont be in any of the 162 games this year.
  24. it's only 162 games until next off season when the jays have a new GM and CEO.
  25. most of the educated fans are hoping for an upper management change so we dont end up in a bigger hole than we are now.
