  1. team is already better not having Bumfiasco on the roster. dude went from deal breaker last year to DFA this year. my how times change. lol silver lining
  2. one thing for sure, Stroman would bring swag to the jays. dude has confidence to spare.
  3. Hell has to freeze over causing 14 teams to have horrible bus accidents.
  4. the only really bad thing about having Stroman up to start in April is that he most likely wont have enough innings to pitch 30 starts. he'd have to be shut down in August.... makes more sense to wait for the injury or bad performance that is surely going to come. Stroman will be distraught if he doesn't break camp with the team, but it's probably the right thing for the team and I hope this is what happens.
  5. hate to tell you, but it can get a lot uglier... I really hope it doesn't in some ways, but if another abysmal year means the Jays get a better CEO and GM, I might be willing to put up with it....
  6. I dont really have expectations for this season. I'm still pretty numb after last year. hopefully we get surprised this year. Beeston and AA's jobs should be riding on it being surprising.
  7. I think I'd like to have Stroman kept in AAA until someone goes down with an injury or shits the bed. he doesn't have 30 starts in his arm and it would be a shame to burn him out.
  8. what can possibly go wrong? Dickey can give up as many HRs as last year, Buehrle can have all those innings catch up, Morrow's arm can fall off, Jose and Ed could be out with injuries.... the question is not what can go wrong, it's what might fall their way and to be a .500 team they have to have a lot of things go their way.
  9. are you nuts??? this team is most likely well below average.
  10. so much can go wrong with the pitching this year... we'll have to hope that they career years all around and no injuries. kind of like buying a lotto649 ticket. chances are you threw money away, but you just never know otherwise know as the AA system for building a team.
  11. AA is scouring Mongolia for talent
  12. you could have a weekly pool for what pitcher will give up the most dingers.
  13. JPA 3.6 % BB rate is both hilarious and infuriating.
  14. that just closed the Jays window. last year was the year to do it. too bad AA f***ed things up.
  15. the holier than though butt heads who vote need to see a proctologist.
  16. add into the mix that most of the pitchers he faced during his career were juiced as well. pete rose barry bonds HOF is a joke if those 2 guys dont get put into the front room. baseball has been run by self righteous *******s for too long. too bad things probably wont change in our lifetimes. question is if future generations will right the wrongs on the last ones.
  17. when was the last time a team went with a 4 man rotation for a longer period of time? for some reason Baltimore seems to be a team that comes to mind... Japanese pitchers on pitch once a week and most of their starters throw a hell of a lot of pitches. I wonder if a team could get a 6 man rotation to work. only start once a week many weeks and throw 120 pitches in every start. if you could build up arm strength it would be interesting. starting every 5th day and the 100 pitch limit are two of the "old School" concepts that one wonders if they really apply in reality. I know Nolin Ryan says modern day pitchers are coddled too much and that 100 pitches in a game is nothing. it would be interesting to see a modern day team attempt either a 4 or a 6 man rotation.
  18. QS is nothing more than a sad talking point for lame commentators to feed to stupid fans and a negotiating tool for agents to use, it means almost nothing in game.
  19. I think he has the most game changing decisions anyone's got wrong against the jays... even screwed us over in the playoffs. hate that SOS.
  20. like any of those old farts care. the league should have retired them years ago.... and I'm really surprised Davidson is not in your list. he's personally screwed the jays over more times than any of us want to remember.
  21. now all the stat pages can keep more exact stats on how often specific umps screw the pooch. I wonder how the commissioner will handle umps who clearly cant do their job.
  22. I bet there is at least one manager ejection over a replay this year.
  23. it's ridiculous that they have put into the wording, of the new rule, that they wont even check the phantom touch at second in the double play. nothing like specifically naming a rule they wont enforce.
  24. that is ********! why should they insist on the defensive player touching the base on all other bases and home plate, but at second as long as the D pretends to get the bag it's an out? unless there is a rule that specifically states that you only have to come close to touching second turning the double play.... this makes no f***ing sense.
