I like the idea of WPA/LI more than their clutch stat, as I think the clutch stat is accumulative. Although I haven't read up on them much lately. It's all noise though, I don't think it correlates very well year-to-year at all.

    Stroman is generally viewed as the most MLB ready product from last draft and would have been up last year (most likely) had he not gotten suspended. His makeup and stuff both lead me to believe he'll be fairly successful and is ready to contribute. That slider makes me drool. Rasmus + Izzy for Murphy + Tapia?

    We'd probably give Lawrie + Bautista + Encarnacion + Morrow + Gose + Reyes lol. Where'd I talk him down? From what I've seen he's retiring. If we signed him I'm thrilled but I don't think he leaves Pittsburgh if he even plays next year. Maholm may be decent but NL pitchers are starting to scare me.

    I would love Baker or Haren but Burnett's probably retiring, Doc is probably done, Hudson meh and Jimenez is Romero. It's not the biggest pool of options.

    The only pitchers I would think fit the 1 or 2 year deal requirements this FA class would be Dan Haren, AJ Burnett, Scott Baker, Roy Halladay, Tim Hudson, or Ubaldo Jimenez.

    The way I look at it, there are at least 10 prospects I'd like in this draft, so there's no chance my board would be empty when we select. Gray, Appel, Bryant, Stewart, Shipley, Frazier, Meadows, Stanek, McGuire, Crawford, Peterson, Renfroe, Smith, Harvey, Manea. That's 15 guys and we pick 10th. That's the last thing keeping me going despite that I know we're gonna take Ball, lol. Sometimes I wonder how we're gonna look back on this thread in a couple years. Maybe I'll look like the biggest idiot ever for doubting Ball, or maybe I'll be right. That's the fun of the draft haha.

    Rasmus is succeeding (somewhat) in spite of the K's, though, whereas Stubbs isn't, but I see the rest of your point. I think we'd get Leake but I don't think CIN is where he'd end up, although if he broke out there, that'd just be the biggest middle finger to the Cardinals, lol.

    Me. I think Nolin+ gets it done. Gose + Nolin + Jimenez + Alford would probably get it done, and I'd do that.
