    I really wonder how a Tavares for Profar trade would turn out.

    We know getting on base is an effective way to win ballgames, and we know that we don't do it well. I just don't see the point of updating it or anything, it's pretty apparent.

    I'm not sure how smart Melvin is, that's the key here. this. That would be a great trade. They don't have the ammo to trade for a Cliff Lee. That's why they need a rebuild, they can't really obtain any larger pieces, they're a bit stuck.

    If Melvin isn't a complete idiot, Lucroy should be really, really hard to get. He's unbelievable defensively.

    +1, I've been on the Crawford bandwagon for a while now. I don't think he's the ideal pick at that spot but if everyone else is gone and we need to reach, he's who we should be reaching for imo.

    I don't think many #1 prospects have had such good competition behind them, though. I like Profar at #1 but if Tavares (or however it's spelled) or Buxton were ahead of him, I wouldn't mind it. And then there's Bundy and such. Has a #1 prospect ever been traded in the same year they were ranked a #1 prospect, though?

    -for reasons listed above not happening -not happening -maybe, not sure if that's beneficial for both sides -wat We need to be buying low on struggling guys with potential like Dustin Ackley, Justin Smoak, Hosmer's a good bet but I don't think they'll trade him, Ike Davis, etc.

    TDA would look so purty behind the dish right now. He'd probably be injured, but I think TDA missing a limb or two can probably protect the plate with two strikes and frame pitches more effectively than JPA.

    Juan Francisco acquired by the Brewers. And somewhere, FatCow cries in a corner. This opens up the door to an Aramis trade though... and Gallardo is probably acquirable too, I'd really like him.

    No I was just out until ~9 PM yesterday haha, although I do have a s*** ton of work, but if you ever need me to do a GDT, at least 12 hours of notice would be appreciated.

    Contention was in apostrophes because Anthopoulos genuinely believes we'll be in contention next season.

    It's not like this is our only year of 'contention,' and Utley would fill a major hole. I could see a KJ-like trade for him to evaluate him first-hand.

    If this team goes on some ridiculous run and we just miss the post season, I could see Kinsler. Although I would be completely fine with an EE+ for Profar trade. A Bautista one would make me think, though.

    Well, no. A trade of, like, Kevin Pillar or someone for Utley would be fine, if not smart. A trade like Sanchez for Utley would be new-level dumn. It really depends. For the right price, Utley is an excellent acquisition.
