It's honestly simple. I'm fairly sure AA doesn't know that DeRosa is replacement level/worse. His clubhouse leadership and above-.700 OPS probably make AA think that he actually contributes to 2 or 3 wins. Assuming AA even thinks of players contributing wins. -

That's an understatement. That would be a really, really bad idea imo. I can't think of any goalies that match up in terms of trade value with them but don't have stupid contracts. They just need to improve their defense. (a lot)

Like I said, Leaf fans are dumn. I won't argue because I see your perspective on this, but I disagree.

I probably am. I haven't watched him a ton and besides having a good fastball and he's short I don't know a ton about him and I readily admit that. Now I've seen him pitch but not extensively. My main concerns are just the fastball plane and the strength to pitch 200 IP+ as most concerns with those of diminutive stature on the mound are, I don't really have anything specific to just him. But if a guy has question marks health wise I don't think we're the best fit for him. Fwiw, Steamer has Lynn at like 2 wins next year, idk if "at least" a #2 is the best label. I would say Lynn is more of a solid #3/nearing #2 type.
