I’d seriously consider going to a four-man rotation the rest of the way. It’s definitely possible with the Jays having an off-day every Thursday for the rest of September.

Cease is scheduled to pitch tomorrow against Oakland, so his next start could come Saturday against Baltimore and then potentially again on the 16th against Detroit. I understand wanting to make sure he lines up for the Texas series as well, though. Either way, the schedule should allow them to line Cease up for one of the games in Baltimore at the end of the season and then again against Cincinnati on the final weekend if that start is needed.

So realistically, they could probably get away with just one more bullpen game the rest of the way - especially if they want to manipulate the rotation a bit to make sure Cease gets a start against Texas.

Bieber everyone excepted the duo Atkins/Shapiro know Bieber was cooked and still injured. Yesevage like all young pitchers top prospect in the Jays organisation, end up on the injuries list, so nothing we shouldn't have expected. I bet the next will be King, Perry and Carlon. Berrios with his bad attitude during the WS, almost all Jays fans wanted him to be traded before the beginning of the 2026 season. So the culprit is Atkins no have signed or acquiring a top 3 SP. Instead waiting forever for Tucker, he can have get a good SP and a good bullpen arms, even if signed Cease and Rogers.
