Well, I think you are right. I didn't know Lukes had 32 wRC+ against lefty this season. Straw is better than that.

For Sanchez.... yeah, I don't want to see him fielding ever.

Im a fan of Straw as your 4th/5th OFer.  His option clearly wont be picked up as I expect Bateman to take his role next season.

Jays need to add slug to this team next year so itll either be at Bateman's or Lukes' expense where one of them becomes the 4th OF depending on who we could get. 

I love Lukes but it'll probably be easier to get a power hitting corner OFer so Bateman would probably start at CF still.  Barger will be taking the other corner OF spot.

They traded for him and absorbed $11M or so of his remaining contract two years ago coming off a wRC+ in the 70's in AAA (!) and when no other team in the sport would have taken him for anything above the minimum. I hope the Jays aren't crazy enough to pick up the option, but Atkins is the only GM on the planet who would value Straw at $8M a year, so I think it's closer to 50/50.

It's getting to Sept/Oct 2025 IKF levels for me where I dread looking at the lineup and seeing Straw's name in there. Lukes stinks against LHP too but it's Yankee Stadium. Maybe he can run into one and hit a HR that would only be a HR in one stadium.

And how about JS who has PINCH HIT Straw for literally all our lefties this year (Barger, Sanchez, Pinango, etc.)

Like I said, I love the value Straw can have if you use him strategically but JS has not done that whatsoever this season.

Not sure why we decided to have our only lefty bat leadoff today.  Having him 9th seemed to reduce his ABs against lefties makes more sense but who am I lol.
