You know, we really should expect so much more from Gimenez.  He has kind of gotten off easy because we're focused on the Vladdy collapse.

I haven't been impressed with him both with the bat and D.

Obviously agree with the bat but how can you not be impressed with the glove?  Hes near the top in baseball in most defensive metrics in his first full season at SS.

You know, if you look at the sabr defensive indexes for shortstop the guy is middling/average. Watching other ss this season and you see Witt Jr. or Walls this guy isn't special.

Witt is on a level of his own... you cant compare him to anyone.

After seeing Bo butcher the position for years, Gimenez at SS defensively is one of the few positives for the season.

Only at the plate. He's been great with the challenges while catching.  That one was baffling though.

Yes, at the plate obviously.

He’s 99th percentile range in SS defense…what. Gimenez is literally as good as they come, maybe save for literally only Bobby Witt Jr. Taylor Walls has negative OAA lol.

Gimenez = average arm, slow turning double plays,

He plays mistake free yeah,  so not surprised by the oaa rank.

What on earth are you taking about bro. I don’t know how you watch Gimenez on a daily basis and not recognize someone who is downright impressive. You might be getting a bit of an anti Jeter effect, where Gimenez makes it look so easy that it seems like he’s not elite.

He makes plays that the average SS, or someone like Bichette, can’t even get to, look routine. Because he has elite defensive instincts and footwork.
