You can always make a case based on outcomes but over the long term you will get burned.  Baseball history.

Straw has to run over the situations before the pitch, # of outs, the score, the batter, who's on base, arms, 3rd base coach signs....etc  There's alot happening that we don't see.  

On that play the ball was in front of Realmuto he pounced on it pretty quick.  Straw made the right call.

We can agree to disagree. I think with this offense playing the way it is, our lack of aggression is a problem. 

The same people saying Straw made the right decision are the same ones saying Vlad can't hit it out of the infield.

That's true except hitting is more of an art whereas base running is more fundamentals.

Does anyone else feel like they're watching Brandon Valenzuela become a star right before our eyes?  I know there's been many a young player that looked good early and faded away quickly, but this guy seems different.  

He has the build and seems to already have the power.  He seems to have the ability to learn and improve at the big league level.  This is a raw rookie who looks pretty polished at times.  His skills behind the plate are already more than acceptable as well.

He has lots of time to improve and he seems like he will to me.  It should be a fun ride watching this kid grow up.
