Well they can’t hit lefties. They will likely both be in later. Assuming Rogers doesn’t throw a complete game which he’s on pace for a Maddux.

I understand the rationals for lefty-righty thing, by I don't think any other MLB manager blindly follows that "rule" like JS does

I mean you yourself can look at their career stats. Some lefties can hit lefties. A lot of them can’t. Sanchez is horrible against lefties. Like one of the worst quality hitters against lefties over the course of his MLB career.

Considering the job that Sanchez, Pinango and Valenzuela have done, it's not an excuse to have Kirk and Barger out. 

We should now have enough bats to do a whole lot more damage than this.
