He is officially back.

The Toronto Blue Jays activated right fielder Addison Barger from the 10-day injured list Saturday and optioned outfielder Yohendrick Pinango to Triple-A Buffalo. Barger is hitting second in the Jays' lineup against the Los Angeles Angels.

Barger had been expected to be activated Friday, but his travel delayed that from happening. Barger has been out since going on the IL April 7 with a sprained left ankle. He had been off to a slow start to the season, going 1-for-19 in eight games.

His presence in the lineup will bolster a lineup that needs some good news. The Jays entered Saturday ranked 27th out of 30 teams in runs and 25th in OPS (.683).

Pinango has been a boon to the Jays' offense since his promotion April 25 to make his MLB debut. Pinango has a .423/.444/.462 slash line in 10 games with four RBIs.

Can't believe they optioned Pinango over Schneider. Davis has been horrible for basically 2 years now. He's a career .210 hitter. I don't care how likeable he is as a person. He's a s***** MLB player, we lost Leo Jiminez cause management wouldn't send him down and now Pinango who literally did everything he could to stay with the Jays is being sent down, to keep a guy hitting .127. Unreal!

Did you look at any statistics before posting this? Davis Schneider was a 127 wRC+ bat last season who produced 1.3 FWAR in 227 PA off of the bench. That's a fine bench player when he's locked in and producing at the plate, although he's not been producing over the first 5-6 weeks of this season that doesn't erase the success from 2025.

I can't believe you're not a major league manager. Truly mystifying

I'm a fan of Schneider. I understand they may have felt imbalanced with too many lefties. I also understand they may want Pinango playing more regularly than he will be now, but I believe in keeping the best players and I think Schneider should have gone down, hopefully to get his own mojo going by playing everyday while Pinango hopefully keeps eating.

Next question is what happens when Lukes comes back.  I'm wondering if Sanchez is gone.  His overall season is pretty much his lifetime numbers.  Kind of meh.
