Meh I agree to an extent, but then they likely would have never operated as they have all these years. Would be nice if they increased payroll when they're in contention. Jays24 1
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Somehow Lauer was lucky to only allow 3 runs that inning 😢

It depends - money/payroll doesn't always mean good FA signings, trades etc. Our front office has actually been good at handing out big FA contracts in comparison to other organizations. Look at Gausman, Springer, Cease and, Bassitt. We've also handed out bad contracts as well - Santander (so far), Roark, Morales - though they happen to everyone, For the most part, nothing crippling which is good.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Just got here, seems Lauer already gave us an uncompetitive start. Even with Berrios unstable velo I will take him in the rotation over Lauer.

Some people operate better under a tight budget. When you have more cash flow/money available in front of you, most people blow it on brand new toys or hookers and alcohol after.

Doubleplay21 Verified Member Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Apparently Berrios has looked really bad in Buffalo. Doubt he gets called up soon.

They have to bring him up he only gets 30 days of rehab time before he has to get activated. Unless they come up with a phantom injury which I doubt he will be on board with.

But I do think the qualifying offer remains a possibility unless he has a really bad offensive Season. But I don't think he will decline it either.
