Just needs to work on being more efficient and pitch 6-7 innings each time. So far Cease has been insane! 

He reminds me a little bit of Victoria, BC's Rich Harden, who had a decent career, mostly with the Athletics. He was a high strikeout guy with great stuff, but like Cease, would walk guys and get into a lot of deep counts, which meant most days, he would only go 5-6 innings. He also had injury issues.

In the game where he gave up the homerun to Carroll the first hit they got was a poorly hit bloop that found a hole.  The second was a groundball that found a hole on a pitch that was a foot out of the zone.  Those were both unlucky, which has been happening to Hoffman a lot (.571 BABIP at the moment).  Now the bad, it seemed once those first two got on he fell apart and there likely is a mental issue there given the struggles of late.  You can't have your closer fall apart when the going gets tough, he has to be better in high pressure.

 

Right, its not all bad luck but its also not all s***.

Its fair to say he has been both unlucky and bad at times
