that ump was annoyed by talking to him about the call, that's why he called the high and outside pitch as a strike. looks like he is a hot head.

Its funny how the culture is. In hockey and football, refs often put the whistles away in crunch time because they are hesitant to decide the outcome. Then in sports like the NBA and the MLB refs seem to relish in it.

Kirk had two hanging Change ups  up in the zone and could not square it up

Seems like nobody is touching the changeup tonight even when its middle middle

Would have been good to let Santandar work off rust in this game.  Offense has been bad lately.

If George gets thrown out later, he’ll be in lol

I'm completely baffled why Santander isn't playing tonight. Give him these remaining games to prove himself to see if he's worthy of being on the playoff roster. Having a legit power threat in your lineup is invaluable in the playoffs. I don't care if he hits .200, if he can hit a HR at a key moment we need that. HRs are even more important in the playoffs.

had they won 2 winnable games early in the season, they wouldn't have been in this awkward situation.

How absurd it is to say that games in the early season don't matter. Every game counts, every game is important.

Obviously, but they also won a lot of games they probably should have lost. It balances out.

They have to play the team they feel gives them the best chance to win. If that doesn't have Santander as a starter, so be it.

My guess is he'll pinch hit sometime tonight and be in there tomorrow. Crochet is the kind of pitcher they're going to want to see him against.

We've already locked up a playoff spot, yes winning the division would be ideal, but letting your $100M player sit and rot is stupid. If he's healthy he should be playing bottom line.
