Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 No series thread? What's the matter, you don't want to see the bullpen lose another one? Let's Go Jays.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Burr>Frias>Yarbrough> Only allow one earned run against the surging Mets. Not bad. ....and blow the lead with Nance.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Jimenez took it for a ride......to the warning track.
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 We've had the lead in the 8th inning or later in 4 of the last 6 losses. I know it doesn't really matter at this point, but that's pretty brutal.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Serven sucks. He basically cost the Jays the game... with a little help from Nance.

I know it doesn't really matter at this point, but that's pretty brutal. It doesn't really matter. Just as some fans want to see Vlad starting at 3rd and Horwitz at 2nd most games from here on out (to see what they can do), the bullpen should be managed the same way. Put guys you think have potential to help the team next year in leverage situations and see what they've got and how they react. The results don't matter. It's just hard to watch that as a BJ fan.

There's a few guys that look like they might be legit BP pieces.

I know it doesn't really matter at this point, but that's pretty brutal. If the Jays are going to lose, then what we are seeing is probably the best case scenario. The starters for the most part have been good, and the offense has gotten considerably better post trade deadline. If the Jays are losing because a bunch of s***** relievers who won't be around much longer are blowing games, or because a backup catcher who will never touch a big league field again after the Jays release him is single handedly losing a close game, then no issues with me at all. If the Jays were losing because the young players looked like s*** and the starters were awful, then it would be a different discussion.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Been a long season for Bassitt. He looks beat.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 That was brutal AB by Schneider, poor pitch recognition 0 out with a runner on 1st and 3rd ....Jimenez delivers
The_DH Verified Member Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 another good example of Vladdy having a 5 cent head.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 another good example of Vladdy having a 5 cent head. huh? 99% of the time that runner is going - I don't think I've ever seen that before
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 The Babe needed that... Noice!
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Hopefully Bassitt remembers how to pitch with a 4 run lead
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 I almost forgot Gibby is a Met - unless I missed it this got zero coverage by SN
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 I almost forgot Gibby is a Met - unless I missed it this got zero coverage by SN Yesterday, before the game.
The_DH Verified Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 huh? 99% of the time that runner is going - I don't think I've ever seen that before Looked like he just wanted to throw the ball, he should have chased him to 2b for the out.
The_DH Verified Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Just shows you, you have to play the games. I thought we didn't have a chance against their starter tonight.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Just shows you, you have to play the games. I thought we didn't have a chance against their starter tonight. Lol why? David Peterson isn’t even remotely special.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Yesterday, before the game. ah ok that makes sense - I missed yesterdays game
The_DH Verified Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Lol why? David Peterson isn’t even remotely special. Lefty with a decent record and Bassitt hasn't done that well this season. I wasn't expecting the score.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2024 Author Posted September 11, 2024 Vladdy, why? lol... Vlad!
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Horseshit call, he was clearly safe. The glove was over his body, but not still making contact when Vlad's fingertips left the bag for a split second. Just had to sync up two angles at once to see it. Even then, not obvious enough to definitively reverse the on-field call
