Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Another win for the good guys. Vladdy hit streak extended.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 Horwitz showing some pop! To the moon, Alice!!!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Horwitz got pop, he crushed that!!! Have a game Ernie! Looking forward to see Horwitz over a full season next year. Really think he can be a solid contributor. Would be awesome if he turned into the Jays version of Jeff McNeil.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Good stuff for Yariel getting out of the 2nd inning jam with 2 on and nobody out. well done. Vlad extends his hitting streak with a single in the first.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Damn, 1 bad pitch all game and Rooker just squeaked it out.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 *crickets* I'm here in spirit:cool:
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Vlad just got destroyed by Miller. f*** that kid that throw
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Vlady's hit streak and listening to Jenny Cavnar (NBC California) call the game were the highlights otherwise a yawner
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Vlady's hit streak and listening to Jenny Cavnar (NBC California) call the game were the highlights otherwise a yawner yeah. Pitching was on point on both sides today. Extremely boring.
Joltin Joe Verified Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Rodriguez make a good 4th starter for us next season. A back of rotation in free agency shouldn't costs a ton. Manoah as 6th starter

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Dana Brown watching Loperfido's AB's from Houston....

Manoah as 6th starter Potentially yes but he's only at 50 innings pitched for this season, a reliable 4th starter needs to be at 140/150...or so. I like his competitiveness he just needs more time to prove himself and of course he needs to stay on the field/healthy.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Dana Brown watching Loperfido's AB's from Houston.... I don’t think he’s laughing about that trade at all. Even if Loperfido is a bust, the other 2 guys are still an overpay

Joltin Joe Verified Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 It's the top of the rotation that needs improvement, not the bottom. Having the best 4 and 5 starters in baseball just as many wins as an ace over a Gausman? Over 162 games. Along with best bullpen. A lot cheaper also.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 It's the top of the rotation that needs improvement, not the bottom. Which top of the rotation arms would you target during free agency? Shane Bieber would be interesting if he signed a short term contract to build back up some value. Is he expected to miss the early part of 2025? Couldn't find anything. Burnes is the best arm available and is someone who would slot into the No. 1 spot of the rotation. Not crazy about giving Blake Snell or Max Fried a 4-5 year deal. Would rather bring Kikuchi back. Not sure about Flaherty if his season is for real, but maybe the Jays see him similar to what Gausman was when the signed him after the 2021 season. What's the trade market like for top of the rotation arms?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Vlad just got destroyed by Miller. f*** that kid that throw Wonder if the A's trade him this offseason lol. Imagine Miller at the back of the Jays bullpen haha! Damn!

Along with best bullpen. A lot cheaper also. I agree that having the best 4 and 5 is nice, but i do that by getting another top arm which pushes 3 and 4 to 4 and 5. And the previous 5, ideally someone young with less than 3 years of service time, to be the first man up when injury happens.

What's the trade market like for top of the rotation arms? Bieber would be interesting for sure, but yes he's probably missing a month or two in 2025. Had TJ sometime around April 10 this year. Burnes would be my #1 choice. I suspect Bieber will sign another 1 year deal with Cleveland, probably with options added on Trade market...f***ed if I know really. I'm not sure the Jays have the pieces to even trade for a #1 type SP. I think they could land a top tier reliever or two though.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 De Los Santos looking for his first hit with the Jays.
BaseballIsLife Verified Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Buck Martinez and Caleb Joseph again. Boy are we blessed.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 A lot of fans haven't even parked their ass in a seat yet, and it's 5-0.
