max silver Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 I would say Manoah coming into this year was better than both, same with Tiedemann. Not to mention the rotation is very likely will be worse going into next year. Alek was always a giant wildcard with regards to what version of him was going to show up. The command and conditioning were both obviously much better but his stuff was still rather pedestrian. I thought that Tiedemann was a high end depth piece but I've finally wizened up given the fact that he's essentially been vaporware up to this point and shouldn't be counted on for anything.

So how do you see the org. pitching depth being better next year compared to as it was coming into this season then? Coming into this season even Mitch White looked like he could be a viable 6th SP same with Francis. And then you had Tiedemann plus a bunch of other guys who had helium. The majority of the team's pitching prospects have either been bad this year or have gotten hurt (with them being unavailable for the majority of next season as well). And this doesn't even include the fact that the team had coming into this year had a legit staff and bullpen. They are going to have to find 2 SP and as many as 5 bullpen arms in the offseason which will be a tough task.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Really makes you appreciate what the staff was able to do last year Yup and the front office wasted the season by not improving the offense at the deadline.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
