It's Ohtani's life. He seems like a pretty humble guy. It's probably a little embarrassing for him that he's about to get paid 600 mil and then get all these crazy perks in his contract.

 

There is probably going to be some wild s*** in this contract. Something crazy like a dedicated shoe shiner or dog walker or who knows what else. And Ohtani deserves it for being the best player since Babe Ruth. And if he doesn't want any of that s*** to leak then that's his prerogative and journos (very nasty people) have no right to know that.

 

The entitlement from Rosenthal and other journos is ridiculous. Why don't you actually do your job and work your sources and break a story? If you can't it's your fault, not Ohtani's.

Funny he mentions the NBA because Ohtani reminds me a lot of Kawhi Leonard in that he's very private, doensn't say much of anything at all and has all this mystery surrounding him. Now hopefully Ohtani doensn't pull a Kawhi and choose LA over Toronto.

Maybe he entered negotiations only thinking about himself and has now seen there's a chance that he can bring his buddies from Japan (Yamamoto and Lee) along to the same team too.

 

Lee is Korean, not Japanese, don't think they are buddies (are they?) and not sure either speaks the other's language native language.

Not sure but he's been there this week. There was jet tracking that basically confirmed his Dunedin trip earlier. His flight to/from Dunedin and Atkins shortly thereafter to Nashville. Enough to clear the coincidence barrier. This one's departing from the same LA airport but it's a different jet, one that's been to Toronto a few times. Literally could be anyone. But it is potentially noteworthy.
