Delgalladay Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 This offense against good pitching is such a joy to watch
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Wow s*** call from the ump there. He was giving that pitch to Twins hitters all along.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Dude??? Gausman not up to snuff and the hitters aren't exactly providing any confidence.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Someone with more knowledge, is it dangerous to throw the splitter for a strike? Traditionally pitchers threw splitters down in the zone to induce ground balls. When Gausman has his fastball locating for strikes he often induces swing and miss with the splitter as well. Moving the splitter up in the zone and it can be launched. Gausman has to live down there.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 More complaining about strikes that were strikes they look flustered already
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 The bottom line was a bit off. You can see that was a ball if you watch his knees.
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 We suck against the great pitching. I didn't understand why everyone wanted us to face the Twins when their top 2 starters are legit.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Someone with more knowledge, is it dangerous to throw the splitter for a strike? Generally, unless he has the pinpoint FB command, he can, guys give up on it.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 That was clearly a strike to Belt for the K. Why are arguing like frustrated babies so early on in game one? STFU and do better.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Our hitters need to be more aggressive on the first pitch. Vlady, Bo, and Varsho all took 2 strikes before swinging. Their approach often this year seems to be at odds with what is needed and lacks adjustments.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 The bottom line was a bit off. You can see that was a ball if you watch his knees. Gameday??
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Their approach often this year seems to be at odds with what is needed and lacks adjustments. Definitely
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Throw splitter for a strike lol
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gameday?? The box on the screen isn't always in the right place. Look at Lewis here, it's too low.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Definitely curious to see the stuff+ rating on Gausman’s splitter after the game
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Lewis spitting on those splitters in hitters' counts. f***ing fishy..
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman is a little stupid lol
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman not up to snuff and the hitters aren't exactly providing any confidence. It's the 3rd inning, even after that dinger it isn't near over.
el duque Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Get him out there, awful outting
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Pitching plans continue to be a pile of crap

I didn't understand why everyone wanted us to face the Twins when their top 2 starters are legit. I agree. And Jeff Blair was wanting the Rays, turns out he was right. He kept saying the Twins dominate vs Gausman and the advantage of playing the Rays is that the Jays have familiarity because they’ve played them so often lately. Sigh.
