Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Not sure. Maybe. The 16 wildcard game win and beating Texas probably sanitized the memories. But I never felt like we were out of games like it’s felt this year too often. I went to 2 of the last 3 games there against the Os in 2016, they lost both. Team looked absolutely toast. And then when they hung onto a playoff spot…. But against the Os?? Things weren’t looking good. Baseball is weird, anything can happen. All things considered i’d be very happy with a Phillies type end to the season here. Even as bad as watching this season has been.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Jays have an entire department dedicated to both mental & physical development of players. As do every other team in baseball. But nobody can help a guy not swing at a pitch 2 feet outside. Jesus Christ Vlad sucks right now
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Lol. Disagree completely. Rose-colored glasses. Your memory is failing you a bit

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Jays literally can't see or scout at home lmao

Casual Fan Verified Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Jose Leclerc just bullied Bo and Vlad
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Vlad might as well be swinging with his eyes closed
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Absolutely PATHETIC at bat from Vlad Jr. Just pathetic. Blair and Barker were wondering on their show if he had “checked out”. I’m thinking that is probably the case.

The Jays rotation this season is better but that 2016 lineup was still pretty darn good.

EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I'm embarrassed FOR vlad. Its gotten that bad.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 My favourite BP arm is pitching now! On a serious note, have no issue having Garcia pitch here. If the Jays were winning 2-1, I would be s***ing my pants though.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Was going to the pen here really necessary
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Yeah, putting this years rotation with that years offense and it’s another WS flag flying. Yeah imagine having the 2015 or 2016 offense with this years rotation and bullpen. Damn!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Jays literally can't see or scout at home lmao Really wonder if something is up with the batters eye or the lights. They seem to hit much better during the day
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Maybe the baby blue line on the top of the wall messes up the batters eye and all of our hitters can't stop thinking about it at home
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 That's it Yimi! Huge strikeout!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Ryu pitched a solid game. Can't complain with his line at all.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I'm embarrassed FOR vlad. Its gotten that bad. I know he’s gonna be kept in the lineup, but the guys needs to sit a game, maybe more. Simply, he’s the worst hitter on the team right now, the worst defender and the second worst baserunner. The only reason he’s gonna be rolled out there everyday is because of that minuscule chance of hitting 100+ over the wall. Everything with Vlad is rock bottom right now.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 1-out double ripped by Taveras off Yimi! I'm shaking now!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Maybe the baby blue line on the top of the wall messes up the batters eye and all of our hitters can't stop thinking about it at home You think they would’ve said something to the front office though and they could fix it sometime when they’re on the road
Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I'm embarrassed FOR vlad. Its gotten that bad. Our genius manager will still reward him with a daily start and the 3rd spot in the lineup.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Imagine if one of our hitters put like a single good swing on a ball? Imagine???? That would be cool
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Exactly. The resources are there for player, it will help but skill and talent trumps everything else They professional dietitians at every level too, despite the beliefs here to the contrary.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I take that back. Yimi Garcia should not have been pitching in this game!
