If the Jays don’t make the Varsho trade then a KK extension would be a no brainer, but they can’t afford to go into next season with both KK and Varsho in the OF again. Have to view KK as a pure one year rental.

I would be fine if they moved on from Varsho but I also think he can be the 4th OF. LF needs to be addressed offensively for sure. But Kiermaier seems to love it here. I think everyone loves having him here. He's probably not going to play 140+ games anymore at his age so having a capable 4th OF just works. It really depends how things work out but retaining Kiermaier should absolutely be something they do. I just have no idea what Varsho's value would even be at this point even with his control. He has had an absolute train wreck offensive season.

It's called a fluke on both ends. Varsho won't be as bad as he has been this season and Kiermier at 34 years old isn't likely to repeat this 110 wRC+ hitting. He is also at the age where CF defense tends to start falling off a cliff rapidly.

No one's saying we need to give KK a long term deal. A 2 year deal at most is what should be expected here. KK, even if he falls off, would make a great 4th OFer/pinch runner.

He's been trying to get the ball in the air, he does an upper cut motion with his arms from time to time - either in the dugout or sometimes during an at bat you can see him doing the motion. It's not quite working. The problem is clear - Jays need to get him some help.

There is a very significant chance that Kiermier is back to ~80 wRC+ hitting next year with declined speed and defense.

The real answer is probably keeping both around and u just roll with the better player at CF. Varsho won't have much value after a season like this anyways while KK shouldn't require anything more than a 2 year commitment. Both are ideal 4th OFers in the worst cast too.
