Just stop taking these gambles against lefty starters... you're on first, just let Heineman try to do something before the lineup turns over.

 

I kinda get the gamble though, even if youre out, Heineman is the 9 hitter and its not like youd expect him to do much very often, taking a risk is kinda defensible. Just... not against a lefty where your odds of success are that much lower.

Varsho is an otherwise excellent baserunner, even with his inefficiency in stealing bags. If anything his lack of speed is probably what causes him to not be as good of a base stealer, that and I feel like he slides weird.

There’s more than enough of a sample size to show he’s a great base runner… minus steals.

 

He’s probably one of those guys that has good speed just takes him a while to get up to full sprint. Some guys are faster getting from 0 to 100

Most base stealers go first move on a lefty. It's fine early in a ballgame, force the issue.
