I think the move was to him after the 6th on a high note. Day off on Monday. Jay Jackson, Bass, and Pearson all need work.

When Berrios starts getting squared up, it is frightening.

Good start. Go take a shower bud. Did your job.

It's like clockwork, every start, at some point, Jose starts getting squared up. Just have to be ready to pull him when that happens.

He has been going a lot farther into games this year than last year until he is getting squared up though, so that's huge for us.

If Bass can figure s*** out that would be fantastic. As much as I think hes a douche. You would rather not throw away depth.

He really starting catching a lot of the plate that last inning.

So Bass claims he think he found something in his Boston outing. And faces 2 batters tonight and strikes them both out. I am intrigued. Wonder if he gets the 8th.

Using the ol' Cineplex "butter" on the ball to increase spin rate?

Belt had a bunch of s*** calls in his earlier at-bats still managed to have a great night. Belt obviously is seeing the ball well and was tired of getting f***ed. I like it.

Not that I'm the biggest fan of Tim Mayza. He is the only lefty in the pen and don't think he needed to pitch this game. Was kind of a perfect spot for Nate Pearson followed by Jay Jackson.

I thought we would see Jay Jackson tonight. Guess Schneider has other plans.

Just got to turn on the game. I'm looking and I'm liking!

How did Berrios look tonight? Pretty good or did the Pirates just bend over?

He was very good until the 6th when they started squaring him up. Gave up a bomb and couple bullets in the 7th.

Not bad. Caught a lot of the plate but had enough V and all his pitches working so got away with it. Not a lot of whiffs but a lot of soft contact early.

In the 7th they started hitting everything on the button and went to pen.

I don't get bullpen management. We're ahead by a few so why not use Jackson or Pearson. A couple of guys are going to burn out soon.

I thought Bass might come out again for the 8th and then Mayza to close it.

Biggio got two hits tonight via babip luck, but could easily be 0 for 5. Lost up there.

He made a couple good Defensive plays. He wasn't useless. Take the small victories.

Yeah, was a good night for Vladdy to take off.

Schneider can always make an easy bullpen day more complicated. Bass could have pitched the 8th and Jackson the 9th. Not sure why Mayza was needed at all here.
