Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 I think the move was to him after the 6th on a high note. Day off on Monday. Jay Jackson, Bass, and Pearson all need work.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 When Berrios starts getting squared up, it is frightening. Good start. Go take a shower bud. Did your job.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 It's like clockwork, every start, at some point, Jose starts getting squared up. Just have to be ready to pull him when that happens. He has been going a lot farther into games this year than last year until he is getting squared up though, so that's huge for us.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 If Bass can figure s*** out that would be fantastic. As much as I think hes a douche. You would rather not throw away depth.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Bass found his SL? That would be sweet.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 So Bass claims he think he found something in his Boston outing. And faces 2 batters tonight and strikes them both out. I am intrigued. Wonder if he gets the 8th.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Berrios always has to leave a game with visions of being squared up hard. Can't be good for the psyche. Lol

Skinny Wolf Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Jays look like a different team than the one in Boston. RedSox must be cheating on something
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 We're catching some breaks with some of these hits.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 Using the ol' Cineplex "butter" on the ball to increase spin rate? Whatever works. Don't know if Butter is on the banned list of substance's
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Atta boy Belt, nice to see some fire!
Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Just got to turn on the game. I'm looking and I'm liking! How did Berrios look tonight? Pretty good or did the Pirates just bend over?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 Belt had a bunch of s*** calls in his earlier at-bats still managed to have a great night. Belt obviously is seeing the ball well and was tired of getting f***ed. I like it.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 Not that I'm the biggest fan of Tim Mayza. He is the only lefty in the pen and don't think he needed to pitch this game. Was kind of a perfect spot for Nate Pearson followed by Jay Jackson.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I thought we would see Jay Jackson tonight. Guess Schneider has other plans.

Pretty good or did the Pirates just bend over? He was very good until the 6th when they started squaring him up. Gave up a bomb and couple bullets in the 7th.

Not bad. Caught a lot of the plate but had enough V and all his pitches working so got away with it. Not a lot of whiffs but a lot of soft contact early. In the 7th they started hitting everything on the button and went to pen.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I don't get bullpen management. We're ahead by a few so why not use Jackson or Pearson. A couple of guys are going to burn out soon.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Biggio got two hits tonight via babip luck, but could easily be 0 for 5. Lost up there.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Schneider can always make an easy bullpen day more complicated. Bass could have pitched the 8th and Jackson the 9th. Not sure why Mayza was needed at all here.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
