Laika Community Moderator Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Yeah Bass was fantastic last year and perfectly cromulent for a few season before that so it would be rough (stupid) to give up on him after 8 innings. As sad as it would be, it would be better to just make Pop or Pearson chew glass in Buffalo... at least until Bass has produced a bigger sample size of suck. The bullpen is honestly sort of stacked. Like, I am comfortable with almost every reliever, in most situations. Ignoring Cimber who is hurt, every active RP other than Bass has a pretty solid K-BB right now. Trevor Richards has a great ratio; his K-BB peers at the moment are Bednar, Bryan Abreu, Jhoan Duran, Paul Sewald, Josh Hader...

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Jays really need to do a better job of building better Starting depth. They have also traded a lot of it away over the years. They probably should target another starter/swingman at the deadline.

I just see a few misses lately like the Borucki/Hatch's of the world, but they've got the PDC now and have drafted a lot of arms recently, got to stay patient, it'll get better.

Bryan Baker and Jason Adam would be good to have in the pen right now TBD on Nick Frasso and Kendall Williams Max Castillo got us Whit Merrifield Not sure if I’m missing anyone else. Honestly for the most part, when they have traded decent looking pitching prospects for major leaguers, they’ve ended up as the winner in terms of production.
