I've watched a lot of games this year and that Merrifield review takes the cake as the worst call of the season so far. There's simply no justification for blowing it that badly.

Win or lose, Berrios having his 2nd good start in a row against another great team is the main takeaway here.

 

I wonder how long Schneider sticks with Berrios here. No reason for a change since he's been pitching well with a low pitch count, and even less reason for a change if the Jays are trailing like they are, but Schneider probably gets antsy when he can't use multiple relievers.

I never said I prefer it. I told you why they are doing it. I really don’t think it makes much of a difference. I would be fine with Chapman hitting higher in the Lineup though.
