Soler is a bull/bear guy. If you say look at his numbers last year, that’s a big bat for playoffs, I could see the opinion. Im not a big fan though

Stroman is a no-brainer. Bassitt money but only for 2 years? Nice.

 

Soler 3/45 is palatable.

 

Jung Ho Lee at 5/50 is kind of risky but maybe worth the gamble. He is only 25. Maybe he would PREFER a 3 or 4 year deal with a no arbitration clause so he can hit MLB free agency early.

 

Imanaga 5/84 sign me up

 

Sonny Gray 4/90 sign me up

 

Yamamoto 9/225 sign me up

 

Ohtani blank cheque sign me up

 

Hoskins 2/36 sure

Jays are really at a crossroads going into the season. They need to find out if last seasons underperformance is the new norm. If it is, they’re kind of in trouble long-term. So I don’t think it’s a situation where you feel good about your base and push all your chips in

My friend, as usual my thoughts are too complex for you to wrap your head around. This time last year I would’ve said Vlad and Springer were big bats. Kirk close to it. Even Bo thought would be better. You could get Soto and have it not make a difference if the others guys aren’t better. It’s tough to say what should be done. In the meantime, I think at least a couple short term contracts for bats.

 

As I’ve said, other teams are built for the payoffs too. Not like once you get 3 boppers and you’re golden.
