Jays really haven't had a lot of big comeback wins this year. It's funny how being down 4 with this supposed excellent offense that this game feels out of reach.

Again, you're wrong.

They're just taking it easy, knowing the games are meaningless. They'll turn up the heat again come September.

They're not taking it easy.

Was at the series in Minnesota. Bo and Vladdy chat all through the warm ups and play catch together. There's no obvious issue there.

Has anyone else noticed how things have gone downhill ever since that incident where Bo was showing up Vladdy on the field for catching that pop fly? It was a pop up that landed right to Vladdy and Bo got PISSED because he thought he had the right of way. Really petty stuff.

The fact that Bo Bichette of all people was ripping into the teams star player so publicly on the field had to have set a terrible precedent. The fact that Montoyo didn't step in to tell Bo to cool it was likely a reason why he got the boot. You don't treat the best player on the team like that, at least not publicly.

Whatever the case was, I think it was a clear sign that this team had issues going on behind the scenes. You never really see Bo and Vladdy all buddy buddy again after that happened.

I get it now, you're high, right? lol

It's the dog days of summer and they're leading the division by 10 games. It's natural that they take the foot off of the peddle to make sure they're ready to roar come the playoffs.

People trying to make a story out of the Yanks recent performance aren't looking at the big picture.

lmao it's a conspiratorial take, sure, but I think it was telling that Montoyo was fired shortly after. At the least it was a symptom that there was some clubhouse issues going on. You don't usually see a typical middle infielder type show up a teams big slugger like that.

I was there live at the August 2nd 7pmish game Rays vs. Jays at s***** Trop near the Jays dugout, and I saw Bo put his arm around Vladdy walking out to the outfield before doing warm ups, so there didn't seem to be any animosity between them. Apparently before that game the entire team was glued to the TV waiting to see what the Jays would do at the trade deadline. If anything, the lack of comparative moves by the FO at the trade deadline, was sort disheartening in saying your not worth it, but im guessing. No excuse for their play regardless. As seen with other teams it doesn't necessarily work either at least so far.

You're iterations of this and others are egregious and indefensible.

Nice. Well good to know that the theory is wrong. Would be horrible for team chemistry if those guys had any bad blood.

But it does sometimes happen. I remember when Stroman and Aaron Sanchez came up, they were glued to each other for a long time and eventually there was a big falling out that never got settled.

They're below .500 over the last 50 games. So much for having the best record in the AL. Houston gonna blow by them for the best record. They might not win a 100 games.

Has to be a quid pro quo. If they wanted a stronger investment from FO, they should've played better overall.

You can't band aid so many glaring issues. How many wins would burning the entire farm (which apparently wasn't appraised as well by the other teams to begin with) have netted us realistically, maybe 2?

Well , there has to be some blame to the batting coach ….

Coaching is hopefully the first order of business this post season.

Three batting coaches and we have been dragging our offense through the gate so far for the majority of the season.

Baserunning coach needs an update as well.

You're just a simpleton who doesn't understand the psychology of an athlete.

If you think the Yankees are panicking in the clubhouse and pressing on the field right now when they're leading the division by 10 games in mid August, you're crazy.

You can look at the records of teams historically who've built up an insurmountable lead, they always have a lull in the dog days of summer.

I don't see how this is a controversial take.

Who cares? They've completely steam-rolled the division and they're easily going to win it. Yeah, the best record in the AL would be nice, but it's really not that big of an advantage.

If it was September 15th and they were on this skid, I'd be a little more concerned but I predict they'll be geared up come playoff time. They're just too good not to be.

haha well you're a comedic guy, I'll give ya that :P

What a crap loss today man. Can't believe I bet on the Jays with Kikuchi on the mound.

Ehh, we'll just have to see I guess.

I know we're all Jays fans and I get that it's enticing to run with the narrative that everything is crumbling down for the Yanks but I think we need to look at the big picture is all.

The big picture is the top WC spot. Toronto is better than the others.

Alright, alright, you're right, The Jays are outstanding and the Yankees suck. I'm very sorry

Your constant patrolling and policing anyone who criticizes the team is brutal. I just come here once in awhile and its insufferable.
