Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Trent time, which one are we gonna get
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Taking out Kikuchi for Thorton is just idiotic. The whole 3rd time through the order makes sense if you actually have a good arm coming in... not a guy you plan to send back to the minors tomorrow.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Only 2 balls today over 95 MPH...just so much weak contact
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Surely Thornton will keep the Jays in this
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Does Teo know how to dive? Don't think he was gonna catch that but not sure if I've ever seen him lay out for a ball
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Does Teo know how to dive? Don't think he was gonna catch that but not sure if I've ever seen him lay out for a ball Not at Tropicana OF foul ground; that'd be a disaster in the making considering the bullpen mound. But I don't think I have ever seen Teo dive; only slides.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Only 2 balls today over 95 MPH...just so much weak contact 3, and one at 94.3
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Nice effort there. And a smile at the end to top it off 👍
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Thorton did it!! Time to exhale again lol
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Smart to yank Kikuchi early. I like it when my team makes smart decisions and it works out. Imagine being a f***ing moron who wants to push Yusei Kikuchi towards 100 pitches, ever.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Now the trick here is to NOT ask Thornton for another inning. Just use your good RPs and deplete the pen. Gotta do it.

I like how you waited for the inning to end before posting this loll

Yep, extra few hours between games as it's a day game before a night game (I assume, haven't actually checked the schedule...) AND they're getting at least 3 fresh arms for tomorrow's game anyway.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Can't wait to see this ump's report card
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 ok yeah, this ump is working for the Yankees
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Kikuchi wasn't getting calls off the plate like that. Of course he wasn't even getting calls on the plate. Was about to post the same thing.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Imagine liking a decision to insert Thorton into a tie game. I like how you waited for the inning to end before posting this loll He's pitched in 26 games, he's allowed 0 runs in 17 of those games in 15 of those games he's allowed 0 or 1 hits 9 of those outings were > 1 IP as well. More often than not, it's perfectly fine to use Thornton. Is he my first choice? Nope, but it's not like he's automatically giving up runs and s***.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Prototypical Rays. Speedy guy on bases.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Swing and miss stuff would have been nice in that situation. Ah well, maybe next year. Or the year after.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Should have left Thornton in...
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Swing and miss stuff would have been nice in that situation. Ah well, maybe next year. Or the year after. Sounds good; see you then.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Good thing the pitchers in Miami at 4 PM yesterday couldn't be here today. Such a long trip for them to join the team
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Swing and miss stuff would have been nice in that situation. Ah well, maybe next year. Or the year after. If we don't win this year we'll win next year, if we don't win next year we'll win the year after that.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Cimber has been pretty s*** since the ASB
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 He's pitched in 26 games, he's allowed 0 runs in 17 of those games in 15 of those games he's allowed 0 or 1 hits 9 of those outings were > 1 IP as well. Now how many of those outings were during meaningful situations? There's a reason why he was in AAA and that's because he's only been useful for mop up duties for his career.
M.E. Verified Member Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 It feels like Cimber has been pretty unreliable lately. Ya think ;-)
