Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Probably a lefty stop-gap until we can get someone. But yay we won! Winning is always fun. But he pitched back to back days. Perfect time to bring up a fresh arms! If Jays win these next 2 they will be sitting in a decent spot all things considered. Hopefully some serious trade talks ramp up over the break.

Im sure the FO is focused on the draft rn, but yes after the draft and break we should see several moves
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 He’s feeling great tonight. Wanted the 8th. I reward that energy. He most certainly earned to go as long as he possibly can. Plus you have a Bullpen day tomorrow. And now you’re committing to using atleast 2 relievers. Sure, and both wouldn’t be used in in a possible high leverage situation, so…no real problem. That’s exactly where Banda and Richards should be pitching right now.
BuckHenry Verified Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Needed this win , c’mon boys , keep the line moving 👍⚾️🔥
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Vlad can crawl to 1st if he wants to when we have a 7-run lead. When scuffling to put any runs on the board like the the stretch of west coast games, and he jogs, it feels awful to watch as a viewer. He's 23 (not 32 and past his prime) and struggling to do any meaningful damage with the bat, the least he can do is try to force the defense to make errors and get on base somehow. If fatigue is his issue, he can call in and say he won't show up for ASG and spend the week in bed. He doesn't need you to be passive aggressive against us; he can shut us all up by showing up and performing. He isn't even doing better than Tapia in July (0 walks! Tapia has a walk!) and we're halfway through. No meaningful damage. Don't look at the stats, your head may explode from your sheer stupidity lmao
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 No meaningful damage. Don't look at the stats, your head may explode from your sheer stupidity lmao Man, he has a family; you should consider not sucking him off on the regular.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Man, he has a family; you should consider stopping sucking him off on the regular. Wow, you looked at the stats and your mind spit that out. I didn't mean for you to really see how dumb that post was lmao
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 (edited) Wow, you looked at the stats and your mind spit that out. I didn't mean for you to really see how dumb that post was lmao What are you even talking about? He has 128 wRC+, 12/28 for all qualified 1B, that is, just above .500. His WPA is 0.67, 15th for all 1B, again mid. He combined for 1.7 fWAR so far, 12th for all 1B And for July (57 PA), he is 91 wRC+, -0.2 WPA, 0 walks, with a sub .300 OBP (.263) You're acting like he is some godsend. He's mid across all the 1B in the league atm. He's fine, doing fine, but he is not even remotely close to what he was doing last year and nor does he deserve the royalty treatment for what he is doing this year. 'Look at his stats'; pfft, look at everyone else's stats too while at it. Now before you bring in 'Trout' and passive-aggressive some stat diffs this year, Trout has had years of excellence. Bo is 105 wRC+ on the year, but you can't shut the f*** up about Vlad. Our young hitters are having to adjust. As I showed in another thread it is extremely common after huge years as a young player. Watch the game and hope to see improvements. Vlad is still our best hitter and they will get him going back to superstar form. If it doesn't happen this year it will be a good offseason for things for Vlad to work on. Every AB isn't bottom of the 9th in Game 7 of the world series...STFU

That is insane. He is hitting worse than Tapia for 2 weeks. His best months April and June of 2021 he walked 20 and 17 times. Vlad should be walking 15-20 times a month. What is going on here?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Well , maybe Banda is a MLB pitcher !! However not according to the elite posters !! Lol He wasn't facing a major league lineup tonight
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Aaron Judge is hitting .225 with 2 HRs this month...guy is trash send him to the minors, Florial is better Said no smart person ever lmao

Iunno, he probably has a Vlad body pillow. As for Vlad, he has been swinging at everything this month. I said it in the GDT - he's swinging like everything thrown at him is a fastball instead of his trademark: let his batspeed carry the damage on fastballs while he sits on the off-speed. This new approach of swing-happy is inhibiting a lot of what he can actually see/evaluate pitch-wise, so he's just out of sorts.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Wow...Judge 0-5 again did he gain weight? Acuna is 1-5. Why is he in the majors. Trash. I hear better things about Duvall. He should start everyday. Doing much more damage then single machine Acuna
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Acuna is 1-5. Why is he in the majors. Trash. I hear better things about Duvall. He should start everyday. Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Wow...Judge 0-5 again did he gain weight? Judge isn't swinging at everything. He's still walking this month and has a .350 on base (before tonight).

What is going on here? Being 23 and trying too hard. Needs to be more patient for sure. If its not his pitch let it go As for me. Tired of the daily, nightly, hourly crap fest on Vlad like he should be in the minors. The board is unreadable with that dumb s***. Yes Vlad isn't doing as great as last year. Yes he needs to figure it out. Yes it sucks when he doesn't hit a HR every AB. People need to STFU, watch the game and enjoy the evolution of our young talent. Bo is literally a replacement level hitter....thats a f***ing problem...no one talks about it, its just Vlad sucks Vlad sucks Vlad sucks. (And yes I think he will figure it out as well). Its a process and they are both young. It will come

He should start everyday. Doing much more damage then single machine Acuna Acuna/Judge leg the f*** out of every ground-ball. Acuna's 107.2 groundout in the 1st tonight, where was Acuna when the ball was caught by Nationals 1B? He was 3 strides away from 1st base bag. Acuna's OBP overall: .369 | Vlad's: .340 // this month: .359 v. Vlad's .263 Acuna has as much WAR has Vlad does with 100 less PAs Judge tonight in the 10th. He pulled a grounder to 3B, he almost beat the throw. He knows he is slumping and guess what he is doing - trying to get his ass on the base. I don't need to open up Judge's overall stats, but this slump (where Judge is 12-61, basically July): .340 OBP, BB-K ratio above league average and still produced 128 wRC+ As for me. People talk about Bo all time; no one thinks he is doing wonders either. You just have blinders focusing on only when someone says bad about Vlad. You have this weird complex to defend him even when there is nothing to defend

Go to bed, I am sure Vlad is waiting for you there. You didn't show me up dipshit. You have made an unrealistic expectation and have to cry like little bitches (70% of the board now) every day every ab every second that Vlad sucks...well he doesn't. He just isn't hitting like his superstar self last year Judge has dropped from Vlad 2021 level to Vlad 2022 level by your stats. He is finished, send him to the minors. Florial will provide more damage than Judge...thats your stupid ass logic

Go find me a quote, cause I haven't read it. Also, like, the expectation is like... you know... take some walks, not have ugly Ks, hit more doubles than noodle arm Tapia, little things. If he sucks, I am going to say he sucks, everyone will say he sucks. When he gets better or 'evolves' like you said, I'll say he's doing better. And everyone will rejoice that he is doing better.

When Vlad sucks every AB except one single, then ya, that's what'll happen. Its not an opinion when I backed it with stats my dude. I am going to go watch Kershaw get this perfect game. Have the last word. Night o/

I’m actually very annoyed he’s in the All-Star game. He might be the least deserving Blue Jays All-Star ever. Atleast in the last 15 years. You would have to almost go back to the early 2000’s to find someone least deserving. He should give up his starting spot to Miggy just to give him a proper send off. Otherwise he should hit 9th in that AL Lineup.
BlueJaysFever Verified Member Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 The lack of walks are telling. He’s not Bo aggressive at the plate but he’s been far too aggressive in pitch selection. Vlad is good enough he only needs to wait for one pitch each PA but he seems to be forcing it. Being in the two hole, I’d expect the hitting staff will be working on his plate approach - he hasn’t figured out that taking a walk on bad pitches is just as effective as slapping the ball for a base hit. Especially with the way the line up is constructed now.
