Lets go Jays!

Schneider will have the luxury of handing the ball to one of his most reliable starters in Ross Stripling.

As noted, the right-hander has shined since joining the rotation permanently. He has lowered his expected ERA to 4.17 and has been using an effective changeup much more.

That said, he is still allowing opponents to hit for a .286 expected batting average.

Not many are hitting off Zack Wheeler on the other hand.

The right-hander is pitching to a 2.74 xERA, limiting opponents to a .229 batting average, and striking out nearly 10 batters per nine innings this season.

He’ll stare across at a talented but inconsistent Blue Jays lineup. Over the last 10 games — where the Jays are just 2-8 — they have topped three runs just three times and rank a mediocre 16th in OPS.

Bo: We needed a change, and this was the easiest lever for them to pull.

Siddall: The manager pays the price for underperformance 'cause that's just how it is, but literally everyone should be looking at themselves in the mirror, from the GM to the analytics depts to the coaches to the players

Santiago: First thing I did was text him, it's sad news

Springer: Hey well, hope his family is good, it is what it is, we got a game tonight

The majority of pre game comments from the team are pretty telling. They’ve been ready for it to happen.

The coaches all looked to be in a good mood in the dugout a few moments ago.

I did not know that Stripling had this in him. I don't mean that I thought he was bad, but like. Never saw this kind of dominance there. (Yes, it's 3 innings, but 3 damn good ones.)

lol Reds just went back-to-back-to-back against Severino; 4 - 0 Reds.

Nice to see Yankees pitching still coming back down to earth. I mean the numbers coming out of that rotation appeared wholly unsustainable.

Watching Schnieder send signals....don't remember Charlie doing this?

Schneider did them when Charlie was the manager
