Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Doesn't change my point Except hitting sinkers to CF and RF vs pulling them has been a big the difference in HRs this year for Vlad. I think about 10 HRs different the last I looked. Last year sinkers over the plate Vlad would homer to RC or CF on an inside out swing or at least double on a line drive. So no, your point is incorrect
Scion Verified Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Springer probably shouldn't be playing at all... 78 wRC+ the last 20 games and he looks uncomfortable. Guys playing with nagging injuries almost never works.... at this level you need to be as close to 100% as possible, any downgrade is going to be negatively impactful. Admittedly there may be intangibles with having him in the lineup but he's basically another Tapia right now. I hate to disappoint you, but almost no one is close to 100% this time of year. Additionally, a compromised Springer is still better than our alternatives.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Listen if Vlad learns to layoff the slider down and away that would be sweet, but some of you guys seem to think it's easy to spit on it, the pitch is designed by tunneling it repeatedly, it's a hard pitch to lay off. It could be a variety of reasons, pitch recognition, he isn't making the correct tweeks, he's in his head, etc, etc... but LTBF blows me away with the coaching, it's comical. I figured there are some knowledgeable and good people on here who would like to know what is going on. But by all means stick with....PULL DAT BALL. So basic with little understanding or knowledge of the game

I said this about Springer like 3 or 4 times over the last couple seasons and he always proved me wrong… I think the 78wRC+ is probably just a slump tbh. He’s probably still a 100ish wRC+ bat even playing semi-injured

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 lol!! Dude was stuck in 2018? I dont think his D metrics are near what they used to be but he is still a pretty solid piece on D at least with the eye test, FWIW. Certainly compared to Tapia, Whit, Biggio, Teo and LGJ. He used to have some pop but not anymore. I was more perplexed by the "power hitter" label he was giving JBJ

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Like you have to be a f***ing moron to think that sinker approach is the problem run production: 2021, 2022 4-Seamers: +32, +7 Sliders: +10, -3 Sinkers: +7, +3 Changeup: +2, -4 this is black and white data, right there on statcast f*** you you f***ing twerp and your "so no, your point is incorrect" garbage shove that s*** directly up your ass and twist it around until it hurts you fartface bike licker

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 I don't care, but I thought the whole reason for the rules in the first place was to encourage more posting, as opposed to less or people leaving BJMB altogether. Think big picture rather than swinging your dick.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Jim is right Laila is wrong It’s like sending illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. The powers that be want to pretend they are morally superior, as long as the rules don’t apply to them. Very sad to see

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 10 x 35M for Vlad? Seems a little high to me
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 10 x 35M for Vlad? Seems a little high to me Yeah that’s too high at this point IMO. Should be closer to what Austin Riley got. Vlad is younger but plays a worse position. I’d say around 250/10
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 I love Justin Trudeau He loves you as well
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Why would Vlad do 10??? He'd want FTJ, J-Rod term.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Why would Vlad do 10??? He'd want FTJ, J-Rod term. if thats the case, no deal i cant see the jays doing more than 10
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 if thats the case, no deal i cant see the jays doing more than 10 Prepare for opt-outs then.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Prepare for opt-outs then. Fine by me. If the price is gonna be astronomical anyways, why not just ride out his control until he’s a free agent
