Yeah, 2nd half and lots of guys coming off TJS struggle a bit. Lots of guys I'd want over Paxton, the Bosox did right by adding the 2 year option, though. That could pay-off nicely.

There's also potential for them to get essentially nothing out of this deal as well. Paxton hasn't really shown the ability to perform after the back surgery that he had previously, so piling a Tommy John on top of that just ups the risk.

I really like Paxton and I get the structure of the contract has a nice potential payoff, but sale only pitched 40 something innings last year. 10 mil seems like a lot for 40 innings considering he got 8.5 last year with the expectation he'd pitch a full season.

I wouldn't hold too much hope on that deal sources says that Freeman is looking for a 6 year deal worth $180 mil. He likely like to stay in Atlanta if they pay him otherwise he going to a big market team and it won't be in Canada

Exactly, at that price range it made more sense to bring back Semien who plays a position of need rather than a guy who plays the same position as your best player.
