I don't think he thinks we have an elite bullpen. He thinks he's Kevin Cash. He's trying to be unconventional without much feel for the game.

Game 1 of the wild card last year told me everything I needed to know about him. I'm just hoping this offseason our front office will confirm they weren't happy with his decision making by getting a real big league manager.

Does montoyo think Valera is a better hitter than kirk.

He just never f***ing pinch hits in general it's small, but it's absolutely maddening.

The only thing I can think of is he’s starting Kirk tomorrow afternoon so he doesn’t want to use him defensively tonight. But that’s also f***ing stupid so.

I guess that makes sense if Montoyo decides not to pinch run for Kirk if Kirk does get a hit. But you can never put anything by Montoyo.

He wouldn't have to under any circumstance, they have 3 catchers rostered. I would have like to see him over Valera more than McGuire anyway.

Valera is twice the hitter McGuire is. Not pinch hitting for Reese was awful. The lefty righty thing totally does not matter because the talent gap between Kirk and Reese offensively is like, literally .100 wOBA points

What's even scarier is that this stacked lineup may save Montoyo's job if the Jays do make the playoffs even though we all know they underachieved this season.

Alright get the next one. You weren't sweeping the best team in the American League.

Yeah exactly. We knew the Rays would be tough. Main takeaway here is that Berrios pitched well... bats won’t be kept down another game. Let’s win the series tomorrow!

Offense was bound to have an off game, but a shutout sucks. Hopefully this is just one game and doesn’t turn into two weeks of the entire lineup being cold again.

And some of it was bad luck. Hit some balls hard with runners on, right into gloves.

Damn, totally shut down the bats.

Offense hasn't been shut down like this in a while

Oh well

Pitching was allright

I feel like this happens all the time with the Rays... maybe they have really good defensive positioning charts or something

Yeah that's a big part. Good defenders, perfect positioning.
